Spring is springing and I'm relishing in my newly deep-cleaned and fully organized studio!
Earlier this week I hosted a wonderful photo shoot with Matt Ramey to capture images of the above gold acrylic diamond modules, as well as a couple of gorgeous shots of work which will adorn the Crystal City Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.

The above ‘daytime’ and ‘nighttime’ images will occupy a TV screen, and the “Brutalist” cast concrete shapes will live in the space directly surrounding the TV to create a composite digital and physical art installation. Below is a digital rendering of the overall design, along with some detailed shots of the forms.

This Brutalist project was brought to me by (and is my first project with) the art agency IndieWalls!

I’m delighted that my acoustic product line with Unika Vaev was recently featured in Design Milk! Shout out to Anna for writing this piece!
This was on the heels of my feature article with Interior Design Magazine! You can check out both of those articles using the links below.

I've since updated my website to showcase my new and proudly created “as seen in” section!

I produced the following paper study models in the signature Folded Poetry “hidden color” design language for donor artwork for the Lucy Daniels Center, a children’s counseling non-profit organization in Cary, North Carolina. The following are concepts for folded aluminum interior wall artwork which would showcase the names of donors to the new building addition.

I also modified my Qubes design to create the following playful exterior sculpture artwork concept intended to commemorate the larger project donors. The three sculptures shown below are paper models but they look like they could be renderings! They've been on display at the local Jewish Center for Good for the past month in a community art show.

While this important project is currently on hold, I had a lot of fun creating the above models and am so proud to be connected with this organization which really hits home on a personal level for me with its mission. Special thanks to Janice at Szostak Design for recommending me for this work!

ArtLifting, an art agency with whom I work very closely, recently completed the following article about the Journey (shown above) and Snapshots artworks which were installed around this time last year in Colorado Springs. If you're unfamiliar with these projects, click the button below to check out the story behind these artworks!

I recently dropped off the above artwork titled “Delicate” as a donation to the Durham Art Guild’s Swing Into Spring Fundraiser! I’ve met so many art lovers and clients through the Durham Art Guild community shows over the years; I’m proud to have donated this work for their benefit.

These upcoming photos are absolute eye candy – Or as my mentor and family friend / photographer extraordinaire Mary Jo Hofmann says, “a visual feast”!

On a Personal Note…
My boo Mikie and I are off to Canada today for our annual spring ski trip! Last year we spent an entire month in Colorado working remotely and skiing in the margins. This year we decided to call it a proper vacation and will be exploring Whistler / Blackcomb for a solid 9 days.

As you may recall, our “Christmacation” trip to Santa Fe in late December didn’t exactly go as planned – I caught the dreaded norovirus and Mikie took a tumble at Taos while snowboarding, breaking his collarbone and requiring repair surgery. Two ER visits in two days was quite enough for our liking.
Our other big travel last year consisted of a summer trip to Italy during which I fell ill with Covid. We have not had the best of luck with our vacations being the relax and recharge that I need, and I'm learning the consequences of overworking the hard way. I fully plan for this ski trip to be safe, fun, and uneventful. That being said, of course I bought travel insurance.

By the way, Mikie's 8-week post-surgery “ALL CLEAR” falls on tomorrow, the day we land in Vancouver!
That's all for now friends! Thank you so much for your continued interest in my work!
Did you enjoy this email newsletter? If so, please share it with a friend! I have never “gone viral” – all of my growth is organic, so your sharing my work goes a long way!
