A Message From Our Ceo

Being a part of a "movement" is powerful. When the movement is to make life better for DFW children with cancer (and their families), it becomes inspirational.

For 14 years, the DFW community has made eating Jersey Mike's on the last Wednesday of March a tradition. That tradition has allowed WOKC to provide comfort and hope to kids and families throughout DFW. Our Buddy Bags, family programs, and pediatric cancer research are essential, and we need your help again.

I encourage you to reach out to family, friends, and businesses and encourage them to eat at a DFW Jersey Mike's on Wednesday, March 26!

On that day, every penny you spend at Jersey Mike's will go to support the mission of WOKC! So, continue the tradition and be a part of this incredible DFW movement by having a great meal and helping families who truly need you on March 26.

-Kris Cumnock, WOKC CEO

EvEY Labay
eVEY'S sTORY

Evey Labay is a senior at Hallsville High School in East Texas. WOKC was introduced to Evey when she and a group of her peers collected items for WOKC Buddy Bags in the Fall of 2023. On the drive back to Hallsville, Evey went to the WOKC website and made a recurring donation and therefore continues to bless the mission of WOKC on a monthly basis. Carolyn Thompson (Student Leadership Teacher at Hallsville High School) said, "Evey is an absolute joy to have in class and she is a servant leader with a kind heart." We certainly agree with you, Carolyn! Evey will attend the University of Arkansas and major in Pre-Nursing. The Razorbacks are fortunate to be getting an individual with the special qualities Evey displays each and every day!
