For my fellow southpaws!

The other day a friend shared an overhead video where she documented her process of upcycling sneakers. I had never noticed it before but she was left-handed like me. I messaged her to confirm because I know sometimes mirrored images lead us astray. But yes, she was indeed a left-hander, sharing “definitely makes things more difficult sometimes.”

Left hand struggles are real. My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Reddin, “failed” me for my inability to use scissors—obviously a classroom not equipped with tools for lefties! Over time, I learned to “unhook” my hand when writing to avoid smudging ink as I moved left to right on paper, only keeping a hooked slant when writing in cursive. And luckily, I was never forced to switch handedness by my parents which I know is quite common among folks.

In this piece, Megan Marshall explores left-handedness, motherhood, and female ambition, all while being right-handed herself. She writes about the societal prejudices, the physical difficulties of using right-handed tools, while also exploring the shift in the 1970s, when articles on neuroscience focused on discoveries of brain hemispheres and creativity. This was also when Fiskars's released their leftie sewing shears—Mrs. Reddin didn't get the memo.

Anyways, I also read recently, that it's important to switch handedness for the sake of neuroplasticity or to create new neural pathways, so I've been doing tasks with my right hand as of late. Not going so well but we're getting there. ✍🏾

We're TALKING ABOUT—
QNS to the WRLD  THE GLOBAL RUNDOWN
Great news! Though, as of late, it seems like The Hague is solely reserved for Brown and Black folks of the Global South. 🇵🇭
Shocking but not so shocking.. Switzerland abruptly canceled a conference it was mandated to hold by the United Nations General Assembly on the rights of Palestinians under Israeli military occupation. The move this week came after pressure from Israel and apparently due to fear of retribution from the United States. 🇨🇭🇵🇸
New Ocean Vuong! Yes, please! 📖
Voter discontent with a return to the polls this May, could play into the hands of the radical-right populist party Chega! (translates to Enough!), which has fed off frustration with mainstream parties. 🥹🇵🇹
Glad this article covers the case for boys to get vaccinated as the HPV vaccine has historically been targeted towards young girls, when in fact women contract HPV from men. And now it's reported that rates of HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer, most often seen in men, have surpassed rates of cervical cancer. 💉

Loved the visuals for this track that include martial arts from Punjab to Kerala and even highlights traditional ritual dance forms from Kerala. Hanumankind keeping it consistent with the visuals from his last track Big Dawgs!
