If You Do One Thing This Week:
💡 Get the rebound.  
A lot of kids did not get into their first choice school this past month. If you're like most of the schools out there - and by that I mean still in full-court-press recruitment mode - get out there and get them on the rebound. Be top of mind! Be the first school they think of when they say “Ok, what's plan B?” 
 
How to get started? Choose ONE target population (one county, one interest group, one feeder school, etc.) and roll out messaging for them specifically. Once you've gotten a few nibbles with that group, focus on another. Just get started. 
 
2 Tips to DO MORE:
🔁 Coordinate your talking points  
We want families to know our crystal clear value proposition. 
 
And this month, at the same time: 
Admission is making calls and sending emails trying to yield families.
Development is ramping up the Spring Gala event train.  
Marketing is churning out content 24/7. 
 
Are you aligned? Are families seeing consistent messaging reinforced across all platforms? Have you synchronized swatches? 
 
Take 30 minutes and meet with each other to decide on shared language so that families are seeing consistent, clear messaging which reinforces what we want them to see. 
🎯 Don't be shy.
Tell people what they need to hear. Don't assume they know the next step. 
  • “I loved meeting you on the tour! Your next step is to apply.”
  • "This school would be great for your family."
  • “Your next step is to complete this checklist.”
  • “Yes, please do connect with the parent ambassador who is trying to reach you. They will have valuable insight that I can't share.”
  • “Have you considered applying for Charlie's younger sister?”
Yes, really. Tell people what they need to hear to keep moving forward in the process.
