Site Notes:  Your Weekly Nudge to a Better Site.

You know what gets me every single time?

“Try free for 30 days.”

I was looking at a plugin for a client the other day—just browsing, not really planning to commit. But then I saw it… the magic words.

No risk. No commitment. Just try it and see if it works for you.

And just like that—I was hooked. I installed it immediately without overthinking, because why not?

That’s the power of risk reversal.

Your potential customers are doing the exact same thing when they visit your website. Even if they love what you’re offering, hesitation creeps in:

💭 What if it’s not what I expected?
💭 What if I regret this?
💭 What if I waste my money?

That fear of making the wrong choice stops them from converting.

And that’s why this is Reason #8 on why people don’t convert: No Risk Reversal.

If your offer feels like a gamble, people will hesitate—unless you make them feel safe moving forward.

So, how do you remove hesitation? You take the risk off their shoulders:
Give them a safety net. Free trials, money-back guarantees, or satisfaction-based assurances work wonders.
Show them others have made the leap. Testimonials, case studies, and reviews build confidence.
Make “Yes” the easiest choice. Remove friction, clarify expectations, and make cancellation or refunds simple.
Use “no risk” language. A simple “Try it risk-free” can be the nudge that seals the deal.

Once people feel safe making a decision, hesitation disappears—and conversions go up. Read more about it in this week's blog post!

Now excuse me while I go convince myself I don’t need every “Try Free” tool on the internet. 😂

Until next week,
CJ
