One moment captured this essence perfectly at Wat Pho*—where the immense reclining Buddha resides, whose feet are intricately crafted to depict the universe's creation. Thousands of tiny, meticulously placed pieces tell a silent, magnificent story. In this quiet contemplation, I felt integrated into its dance, where all these beings co-mingle in the glistening present.
This experience gifted me an invaluable insight—home is not a place but a state of being, an instant of serene clarity that we are all intertwined in life's unfolding puzzle.
*Wat Pho was not damaged in the earthquake.
So today, I am so vividly reminded of the disastrous earthquakes that have hit my own country, the sense of loss but also kinship with neighbors and feel called to participating in providing whatever sort of aid I can. I invite you to do the same, whatever means are at hand.
