Real (approachable) Style Advice for Real (grown-up) Women with
Real (smart) Budgets

Sunday, March 23, 2025
Hello First name / friend,

Well, here in New England, we’re slowly inching closer to real spring. Even though the official first day was Thursday, it still feels pretty wintery here with temps maxing out in the low 50's. Meanwhile, I know some of you have skipped straight to summer. šŸ˜Ž Anyone enjoying 60s and sunshine? That’s my idea of perfect spring weather—so if that’s you, consider yourself lucky! I know it's on its way here and I canNOT wait!

Bill and I had a fun night out last night, grabbing dinner at the bar at Perro Salado, a cozy little Mexican spot here in Newport, followed by a drink at White Horse Tavern next door. Fun fact: White Horse isn’t just a charming historic pub—it’s America’s oldest continuously operating tavern (1673) and the 10th oldest in the world! šŸ»

And here’s another piece of trivia… Jackie Kennedy Onassis had a favorite table there—Table 40… It’s upstairs in a cozy little alcove beside the bar, and you can actually request to sit there.

Also, legend has it the tavern is haunted. šŸ‘» . BOO!

Now, here's what you may have missed this week from B.Styled:

1. Tipsy Tuesday -  A Wardrobe Workhorse that Adds Instant Polish
(see below for a summary and recommendations)
Why Jackets Can Be Tricky
šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ Jackets can feel too formal, bulky, or like they don’t ā€œgoā€ with your casual style.
šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ The wrong one can overwhelm you or make you feel outdated.

The right jacket instantly adds structure and polish—without looking stiff.
āœ… Defines your shape (instead of drowning you)
āœ… Balances proportions, especially for petites or short torsos
āœ… Takes jeans & a tee from ā€˜meh’ to modern and intentional

A modern, tailored jacket or a relaxed blazer that fits well and flatters your shape will make getting dressed so much easier.  Click HERE for some examples.

Best Style Choices:
āœ”ļø Lightweight, drapey fabrics for effortless polish
āœ”ļø Cropped or hip-length cuts for balance
āœ”ļø Neutral colors for versatility OR a fun color to add personality

Easy Outfit Formulas:
šŸ”¹ Casual chic – Jeans + fitted tee + jacket + sneakers/loafers
šŸ”¹ Polished but comfortable –  Joggers + tee + structured jacket + sneakers/slip-on shoes
šŸ”¹ Elevated everyday – Dress + jacket + boots/pumps/kitten heel/sanda

2. One Outfit Prompt, Five Unique Looks!
One of the best things about the Spring Style Systemā„¢ļø is how it works for real women—no cookie-cutter outfits or a one-size-fits-all here!

Each member takes the daily prompt and makes it her own, using what’s in her closet, what flatters her shape, and what suits her personal style (and weather).

Here’s a look at how five different women interpreted Day One’s Outfit Prompt—all stylish, all unique, and all proving that getting dressed with confidence doesn’t have to be complicated.
