Friends, clients + media pals:
To be real: I've been on a frayed nerve. Every day I'm scared + enraged + working to not spin out or scroll myself numb.

As a counterbalance: I'm being so tender with myself. I'm napping, dancing, slowing down with calm people who care about the world.

I’ve been looking for the bright spots: I see lawyers pushing back + winning. Bold companies doubling down (hi, Costco! hi, Harvard!). Bernie + AOC breaking crowd records with their rallies in red districts.

And in my feminist + queer circles, I see beauty: people laser-focused on what's needed: direct actions + supporting the less supported + checking on the strong ones.

I am seeing how today's pressure cooker is producing some serious clarity and courage. (faves highlighted below.) Folks are launching things they’ve been sitting on. Rising to meet the moment.

I see AOC telling us “it's okay to be happy; [it sustains us] for the long haul.” I love it. Hell Yes.
On my corporate consulting front: here's the truth beyond the headlines: DEI is alive and will be. (But changed.)

Yes, some big players pulled back. And sure—some leaders cut what they never truly believed in or funded meaningfully anyways. (Ouch. 😠)

But: the startups and biz owners I work with are (mostly) not backing off. They’re just trading performative posts for real change behind the scenes— thoughtful, necessary, data-driven work that makes things less toxic, especially for those who are already marginalized/targeted in today's world. Yup: Mainly without the “DEI” label. Not because it’s bad—but because the phrase has become a roadblock.

I’m still here. I'm still queer.
+ I love you all.

In solidarity,
-Femily

p.s. I protested recently among 200 small town Texans (was visiting my sister). 99% of those who drove by honked in support. Including big men in huge trucks. Something good is brewing…and not just on the coasts.

Hey, businesses
Wild but true: hiring me is “pay what you can.”

Here's how:
  • When companies have a $55K budget, I’m their hands-on advisor for a period of time, advising various leaders and multiple teams to uncover where key groups aren't faring as well + others - and hands-on doing something about it.
  • When an org has $800, we do a high-impact, one-hour strategy session—and you leave better understanding how to fix your challenges (or tweak your DEI) to move forward in this new era.
If you’re called to navigate this era with expert support, message me. In a free call, we will talk frankly about your budget, and I’ll share candidly exactly what I can deliver for that amount. BOOM. Win-win. Just reply. :)
