Bonjour First name / friend!
This weeks dispatch is from the stunning South of France.
My marathon trip to France started in the historic city of Marseille with a visit to the Camargue region to ride a lovely horse named Utopia across the wildlife filled wetlands of the Camargue.
Next up was the scenic Rhone River the Avalon Poetry II for a week of supplier meetings, travel education and fun dinners. Mornings were spent visiting the towns of Viviers, Arles, Lyon, Tain L'Hermitage and Avignon. Afternoons I in educational sessions and meetings with 20 ofVery long days but well worth it.
My partner relationships are key, and the “secret sauce” behind my delivering creative and innovative trips.
After saying goodbye to my colleagues I drove to the charming town of Aix-En-Provence. The first hotel was the stunning Hotel Les Lodges Saint Victoire…I had to be dragged out. Les Lodges is just perfection. You must check out the link below!
Another highlight was a fantastic day spent hunting for truffles in the Luberon. We tramped around a farm with two very enthusiastic dogs that have a real nose for truffles. We all retired to an outdoor kitchen after the “hunt” for champagne and a truffle lunch.
Another great day was spent visiting some of the wineries that produce all the delicious rose I was drinking. We had a lovely leisurely lunch in the garden at Château La Maison, which made up for having to check out of Les Lodge.
Finally, on to Nice, where the lively atmosphere was a big shift from Provence's quiet charm. Nice is packed with fancy hotels, top-notch restaurants, and a world-traveling crowd that loves the French Riviera's stylish vibes.
We sailed on a private boat up the coast to Monaco from Cap Saint Ferret, which is a lovely way to see all the incredible homes and over the top yachts in the harbors… a fun game is to Google the yachts by name to see who owns them!
Along the way, I've (over) indulged in some great French wine, incredible restaurants, had fascinating experiences and discovered luxury boutique hotels in Provence and the French Riviera that provide an outstanding experience.
The South of France is truly a spectacular place, and it should definitely be on your travel bucket list.
