Hello Friends, We hope you have enjoyed this spring weather! I have truly savored this Spring as I have been spending lots of time these last two weeks driving up to the Napa Valley. The views and landscapes are amazing. All of our hills, pastures and vineyards are drenched in a vibrant green. Mustard, daisies and grazing lambs are everywhere. As I drove home from St. Helena tonight, I could not stop looking out my driver’s window at the incredible landscape I call home. I am feeling so grateful. Speaking of grateful…my team and I have enjoyed five and a half years of welcoming you into our Shops. First at Pacheco Plaza just months before the Pandemic, where we had a fun corner space in the shopping center in which we loved to welcome customers to shop, design clients for meetings and presentations and guest makers of all kinds for our Vendor Markets. Our Annual Anniversary Party was always the best with Champagne for all and the Johnny Doughnut truck. Amazing! With our lease expiring in Pacheco and unknown plans by the building owner, we decided to open in downtown Novato prior to closing Pacheco so we could have another spot to shop with varying merchandise but all within the Buttercup Home design aesthetic. We have enjoyed two great years downtown with the energy of events such as the Annual Tree Lighting and Rock the Block, to special Pop-ups with local designers and small businesses. Maureen Moffett Designs, Kate’s Toffee, Intentional Goods, Caitlin Greene, Erika Honig are just a few of our faves. But as they say, all good things must come to an end, and we will be closing the Shop. After much thought and reflection, I have made the bittersweet decision to close The Shop. The ever-changing retail landscape and economic shifts have made it challenging to sustain a storefront. While this chapter is coming to a close, my passion for design and this incredible community is stronger than ever, and I will continue offering my full range of interior design services…full remodels, furniture plans and consultations. This shop has been more than just a business—it has been a place of creativity, inspiration, and connection. I am so grateful for your support over the years, whether you stopped by to browse, enjoyed one of our Events, or trusted me to bring your design vision to life. Though the doors to the shop are closing, my work in design continues, and I can’t wait to collaborate on future projects with you! If you’re looking for design services, staging, or just some inspiration, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can contact me always at the bottom of our Newsletter (please always respond when feeling it…I love the hellos) and be sure to follow along on IG @buttercuphomestyling and www.buttercuphome.com for updates and design inspiration. Thank you for being a part of this journey—I look forward to creating beautiful spaces together and most of all seeing you around town. |

What’s in Your Garden? I am knee deep in weeding, but the family is working hard to get rid of these buggers. We are all about manual labor and not using chemicals. An organic garden for sure. I have put in some huge poppies, dianthus, foxgloves and a few others. Tomatoes are next, but I always wait until April. My Camelias, those like my Gram’s with the bright pink blossoms and yellow centers are in the prime right now. Too many even to cut for vases in the house! |

Per usual, we are including one of my favorite recipes and perfect for Easter Brunch. This is from a friend of mine who shared it over 25 years ago. When he first shared the recipe for a Gin Fizz, I was hosting an Easter gathering for a bunch of friends in my tiny Junior one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco. The best part about this apartment and the reason I moved in, was it had access to a rear garden. It was the best! I am pretty sure at 27 years old, I drove my landlords crazy with my fun parties and late-night laughs, but we had so much fun there! Enjoy! |

"Change is at the core of who we are as human beings. Our desire to learn, move, grow, and experience informs almost all of our desires—both conscious and unconscious. At any given moment, I believe that our innate instinct is to identify the ways in which we might expand either more deeply, or more outward…into whatever mysteries await us in both." from THE PIVOT YEAR |
