Hi First name / there,

Wow, Q1 has flown by! 🚀 I've been looking back at what I've done, and I wanted to share a project that was really meaningful to me. It's a website redesign for Silver Service Children's Foundation, a nonprofit that's close to my heart.

My best friend is a nurse who volunteers with the organization, and she first hired me to create their website back in 2020 when I was just starting out as a Squarespace designer. This was one of my first professional web design projects!

Looking at the site earlier this year, I realized it was due for an update. It was still on Squarespace 7.0, the older version of the platform, so I saw an opportunity to not just modernize the technical side, but also improve the user experience.

My main goals were to:
  • Make the donation call-to-action more prominent
  • Utilize the newer Squarespace 7.1 features to add dynamic elements and playful animations
  • Give the whole site a fresh, energetic vibe

I had a lot of fun bringing the site to life, adding colorful animations and making sure the foundation's mission felt vibrant and accessible. The new design feels much more contemporary and inviting, and I'm really happy with how it turned out! Sometimes a little design love can make a massive difference for organizations doing incredible work. 💖

P.S. We used my template customization service for the new version of the website.

New Squarespace Features

  • Circle Statuses: Squarespace Circle Members are now assigned to one of three statuses: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. It’s based on a point system, and each status unlocks more discounts and perks. Learn More

  • Form follow-up questions: If you use multiple choice fields in your form using a dropdown, checkbox, radio, or survey, you can now create follow-up questions that only appear when a user selects a specific answer. Here’s my walkthrough on how it works.

  • Saved sections for footers: You can now add saved sections to site footers. I’m very excited about this update!

  • New product block image shape options: The product block’s design tab now features options for image shapes, image ratio and cropping, corner radius, and changing the focal point of the image.
