If you know me, at all there's a good chance you know my love for Gilmore Girls. Late last month, I had the opportunity to celebrate Amy Sherman-Palladino's writing and work from over the years. Probably most well-known for Gilmore Girls, she's also carved a path for herself with Bunheads, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and the upcoming Etoile, which will be on Amazon Prime. It was an incredible event, uniting Gilmore Girls fans of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate our queen.
Top 5 moments from the day
Hearing about the GG pitch from ASP herself Over the years, I've heard the story of how Amy went in to pitch several different projects for WB. But, people were losing interest and ordering lunch, when they asked if she had anything else. She blurted out the idea of a mother-daughter duo who are “more like sisters" and they said “okay, we'll buy that” and sent her on her way. Where she called her manager and he advised that she figured out what that show was going to be.

Seeing Lauren Graham + Kelly Bishop together
Seeing the other mother/daughter duo of Gilmore Girls, Lorelai and Emily (Lauren and Kelly) in person was every bit as magical as I would have imagined, and then some. The relationship they've had off screen is so special.

My question being asked and ASP answering it
This moment will occasionally pop into my mind, and I'm still blown away that it happened. They acknowledged my existence, my question and the moderator said “good question.” I seriously blacked out for a second and had no idea what was happening. And it was one of the greatest moments I've ever experienced.

Sharing the experience with my mom Gilmore Girls has always been our thing. Every year, we go to Warner Bros. for the Holidays Made Here Gilmore Girls event. We continuously watch it, and reference it every chance we get. No one else knows me like she does and we've grown closer together because of this show. So, there was nothing like this experience.

Another bonus was meeting Liz Torres, who played the incomparable, the one and only, Patricia “Miss Patty” LaCosta. She was so sweet and took her time to ask my name. I also had a chance to talk to Valerie Campbell, the key set costumer on Gilmore Girls. It was great to meet her! She was so lovely.
