Hey First name / there, This week's newsletter will be a bit shorter, because I've been quite busy the last few days. We had a great time at #COWORK2025 over the weekend, had our quarterly Cobot get-together yesterday, and just today we were filming a super exciting video interview with Lenny and Taylor from workish.berlin, showing their incredible space and story. (I shouldn't have spoiled that!) Before this comes out, I wanted to share a couple of ideas to promote a space locally with physical materials. I got these mostly during discussions with people on #COWORK2025 and Workspace Design Show 2025: |

Put Out a Banner! An old salesman in Bulgaria told me some time ago: “If there is nothing outside to get in the way of people, nobody will stop and look at your store.” It seems so simple if you already have one, but so many spaces told me that they don't have a banner outside their doors. Best part: It doesn't have to be anything expensive, a handmade personal banner can work best. You can even get a chalkboard and write something there. Let your space speak. |

I swear, they don't pay me to promote their space, I just really like what they are doing! 😄 |

Posters, Posters, Posters 🤩 Posters are an amazing way to promote your space and show what's going on inside. Get creative, stick a couple in your area, but mind the environment and don't print more than you need. Here's an idea: Janek Panneitz suggested putting posters next to nearby bus stops with the message: “Tired of commuting? Our coworking space is a 2-minute walk away →” If you are struggling with creating digital assets and want some tips on how to make the poster design, send me an email, I would be happy to help you with what I can :) If you want to get hands-on, my colleague Morgan recently shared with me that he was scanning leaves and branches and writing between them to create natural posters to promote his event. |

Note that they also reused it for instagram content, which you can also do. |

Get Creative That's the most important part, don't be afraid to get creative and stand out while representing the values of your space. Vicki Lichtenegger from ToBe Work & Care told us that she created a treasure hunt with small printed flyers she put on lamp posts around her town. She invited participants to search for the next place, until the final part of the hunt led to the coworking space where they got a reward. Other owners organized flea markets in their spaces on the weekends and promoted it through flyers. These kind of out-of-the-box, innocent marketing stunts grab way much more attention than a generic Google Ads campaign. (When done right) When you find some free time, pull out a piece of paper and write down 20 innovative ways you can promote your space without spending much. Don't judge your suggestions, just keep writing. Good things will follow. |

Next week, I am very excited to finally welcome Bernie J Mitchell to the newsletter. Bernie will tell us about: "Using European Coworking Day to Raise Awareness About Your Space" 🥳 |
