Updates + Additions

Hi First name / friend!

Happy April print bestie! We’ve been loving seeing everyone’s projects come through our portal. You inspire us every day. This month we have some great die-line additions for you, some project highlights, and some fun facts about our presses!
💖
We will be sending this email out around the 1st and the 15th of every month, announcing our new dies and any updates we might have for you. You can always see the new dies as they are added to the Dropbox folder or directly on the Resource Site.
💖
Now, onto our FOURTH S2S update for you!

✂️ New Die Lines! ✂️
We have added 10 new dies to the library!
So many fun ones this month, we can't wait to see what you create with these!
1️⃣ 6.5” Square Lope Liner // By popular demand! Fits All Announcement Converter’s 6.5” square envelopes. We know, because we asked them for this die line so we could bring it to you!

2️⃣ A2 cowboy boot  //  Fits in an A2 envelope and pairs well with the rest of our western die lines. Great for a western themed welcome party!

3️⃣ A6 ticket  //  Identical to Printswell’s new A6 Ticket. Reminder that we can die cut double thick digital prints from PW!

4️⃣ A7 Cloud  //  A fun one for you to get creative with - this would make a great shape for a floral border or a party invitation with a fun border

5️⃣ A7 telluride Mountain Edge  //  The new A7 edge cut features the Telluride mountain range, designed to cut cards from 5-7” in width, including pockets!

6️⃣ A7 Vintage Frame  //  A great addition to our vintage frame collection. This pairs well with the A6 version of the frame for a great stack!

7️⃣ Fancy top escort card  //  Another fun line that you can use when incorporating a floral border to the top of escort cards

8️⃣ hummingbird  //  Nothing else to add here except this is the cutest thing to land in our library since the butterfly escort card

9️⃣ Oyster - Meduim  //  The new oyster die is approximately A6. It’s great for a details card, small menu, and any other medium card need.

🔟 Seashell Scallop - Medium  //  Now there are two scalloped shells to choose from — large and medium! The new medium shell measures approx 3.75” square and is great for a details card or an online RSVP.
Just a reminder…
Stationer to Stationer shares the cost of most custom dies 50/50 with clients. We keep the die in our library for future use by all of our clients, including you! If you prefer the die to be proprietary, you would then pay the full cost of the die.

The above dies have also been added to their respective folders in the Dropbox folder and Adobe Library. If you have these added to your drive or Adobe account, they will auto update. Sometimes Adobe takes a while to update, so you may need to re-sync your creative cloud.

Studio Update
🙌 🙌 🙌
We are happy to announce that both our printing presses, Dorothy & Nora, have returned from their much needed spa days and are in full working order! Are you curious who these ladies are and what their super powers are? Read their bios below to learn a bit more about them!

Dorothy
Meet the press
Dorothy Rae is a 77 year old Chandler and Price. She comes to us from Kansas and used to print the newspaper back in the day. Her foster family saved her from taking a permanent trip to the scrap yard. When we adopted her, we brought her back to her full glory.

Used for: Die Cutting, Printing, & Embossing
Strengths:

🙌 Can die cut through very thick paper (double, triple, leather, velvet, and even wood veneer!)

🙌 Can print at final size, meaning we don’t need to cut paper down after. We like to use Dorthy for printing on handmade paper!

🙌 Uses a motor to allow us to print more prints faster

🙌 Really satisfying to watch
Weaknesses:

😭 Slow to distribute ink in comparison to Nora

😭 Cannot handle large designs or areas that require a lot of ink, like big fill areas

😭 Her impression when pressing a large design like a complex floral illustration isn’t there

😭 Lining up two colors on her isn’t as consistent as on Nora

😭 Her print area is much smaller, 8x10” max

Nora
Meet the press
Nora, our 75 year old Vandercook 4, comes to us from Carnegie Melon University in Pittsburgh, PA. She taught thousands of students how to do letterpress before retiring in 2023. She was almost thrown in the trash before we saved her and drove her to Colorado where she gets the attention she deserves. She is one of about 1,800 Vandercooks still in operation around the world according to the Vandercook census.

Used for: Printing only
Strengths:

🙌 Can print dense and highly detailed designs on thick paper and maintain a deep & consistent impression

🙌 Prints large coverage areas like a breeze

🙌 Loves to print gradients all day long

🙌 Her print area is much larger. Can print up to 13x18” on paper sized as large as 14.5x26.75”

🙌 She prints with excellent precision every time, meaning lining up two colors on Nora creates perfect alignment every time
Weaknesses:

😭 Not set up to die cut (yet, we’re working on it)

😭 Cannot print at final size, meaning we must print bigger and do final trims after printing

😭 Is slow to print - each print is hand rolled through the press — one at a time. It requires 2-3 footsteps by a human for every print. Imagine Cara’s apple watch counting steps while printing on Nora!

😭 Cannot Emboss
Hot ofF the Press!

How CUTE is the new hummingbird die shape!?

Nora does a great job capturing EVERY detail of your designs!

A little love for the hotel key card die to inspire your day of designs
