It's OK to start caring today.
It's OK if you didn't pay attention before and now you want to.
It's OK if you used to care but didn't for a long time and want to again.
It's OK if you thought you were a part of a political party, but now aren't sure what that even means anymore.
It's OK if this era of politics is scaring you. You are not alone.
Bullies and jerks will gaslight you into thinking what's happening is OK. It is not normal. It's not OK.
You can start disliking what is happening anytime you want.
Now is a good time.

What's happening to your patients is not OK. What's happening to science and research is not OK. What's happening at our federal health agencies is not OK. What's happening to federal health workers is not OK. And DFA is not OK with any of this, and with your help, we are going to let our elected officials know.

Doctors for America is the organization where like-minded individuals can come together to advocate and work to improve health care on behalf of patients. Whether you have 5 minutes or 5 hours to be involved, you CAN help make a difference now through your time, engagement and your donation.

In solidarity,
Angie Bakke, MBA
Executive Director

April Advocacy Grand Rounds

In this presentation, Dr. Paul Offit and Dr. Judith O’Donnell will provide physician advocates with a comprehensive understanding of the current vaccine landscape. They will discuss the scientific foundation of vaccines, strategies for combating misinformation, and the role physicians can play in preserving public trust in vaccination programs. As political polarization intensifies, it is essential for healthcare professionals to actively engage in advocacy, educate patients, and ensure that sound science remains at the forefront of vaccine decision-making.

Op-Ed Writing Workshop
Join Jennifer Obel, MD (prior freelance journalist for the Washington Post and Spokesperson for ASCO) for a hands-on training for DFA advocates who want to learn how to use patient stories and personal experiences to create and pitch compelling op-eds and letters to the editor. Editors from DFA's Op-Ed Review Committee will offer you a chance to test and discuss your material and outline and hone the article for greatest publication success and to see if you can influence their point of view. All experience levels are welcome.
