ISSUE #14 | April 7, 2025

Hi, it's Miriam.

Welcome back to the At Work Tune Up, your insider’s playbook with practical, quick, tips on how to improve your team dynamics, keeping things happy and healthy at work.

We spend a lot of time at work. We should love what we do.

This week's tip for your toolbox
Beware of shiny, new fads that seem alluring. Know your core principles, and be consistent.

Any athlete, rock star, or successful everyday professional will tell you that the key to being extraordinary is to do ordinary things exceptionally well.

Be consistent, stay focused, and don't get distracted. *

How to do this? Keep reading ⬇️

Get to work

Choose one goal and be consistent with doing whatever needs to be true to achieve it.

Don't overthink it.

If a new path forward comes up, ask your team "Would we do this because we feel this is best for our goals, or are we distracted by doing something new?"

Stick with whatever is driving success toward your #1 goal.

📣 Managers: Use this worksheet as a template to make sure your team are all on the same page.

Don't short cut this step. That's where the gremlins sneak in. It is worth taking time to map out what your team goals are and the granular steps the team will take to get there.

Use very concrete, specific language, and ensure everyone is rowing in the same direction. All. The. Time.
* The Big Asterisk: Innovation and pivoting are required sometimes. But not most of the time.
