APRIL 2025 Hello! After a long hiatus, I'm excited to return to your inbox with this monthly newsletter! I've crafted Insights & Inspiration to provide you with useful resources across the many dimensions of professional and personal development, with little bits of wisdom and relief to help you through this thing called life. A teacher at heart, it's natural for me to find the teachable moment in everything I come across, and to find ways to share it with others so they can benefit. Think of this newsletter as part curated playlist, part text-thread among friends. Aww, look at us becoming #Besties ;-) This Month's Theme: HEALING When I facilitate leadership trainings and organizational workshops, I strive to create a safe space for people to address emotions in the workplace, and to find ways to increase empathy for one another. I meet so many experiencing emotional turmoil, stress, and frustration and work exacerbates it. The need for HEALING is greater than ever, and this inaugural issue is dedicated to that. Here's an overview of my favorite resources I'm sharing with you this month: - An audio track for stress management and mental clarity
- 1 minute of laughter to reset your day
- A podcast about loneliness, disconnection and isolation I've shared with so many people, I realize it's got to go into this issue
- Professional resources: one for individual consultants, the other for organizations. Both are designed to usher in more ease and revitalization.
I hope you find value in this first edition of Insights & Inspiration and welcome your thoughts on what's currently providing you with meaningful insights and inspiration in your own journey. Keep reading, check out the tips, and stay inspired! With love, Nancy Marmolejo |

Sometimes called “ear flossing”, this is audio that washes from left to right, right to left for an ultra-calming effect. It's best used with headphones and you can tune in while on a walk or in a relaxed pose (and yes, it's totally OK to fall asleep to it). For several years, I've been into binaural audio beats, sound baths, and specific sound frequencies to help me sleep, focus, and relax. For me, they really make a difference. Check this out and let me know what you think. Here's an 8D Audio on Insight Timer that I love: LISTEN HERE |

I am THAT PERSON who'll send you 150,000 memes a day on Instagram messages. Cats driving race cars, White Lotus ("Piper nooooooo!"), I stand guilty as charged. But hear me out… there's something magical about a shared experience and these little moments of smiles have a healing effect. And let's not forget that laughter is scientifically proven to be healing!! Australian twins Miles and Archie Shepherd’s lip syncs of sports announcers is my current comedy obsession. I love these guys, their timing and delivery are flawless. Get ready for some joyful endorphins to take over as they recreate an epic buzzer beating 3-point shot that ended a Bulls -vs- Lakers game. Extra points if you know the “Elizabeth, I’m coming!” reference. Hilarious! WATCH HERE |

THIS ANTI-SOCIAL AMERICAN LIFE |
|
If you and I are regular text-message friends, then I already sent you this. If not, then I urge you to listen to this episode of Fresh Air, This Anti-Social American Life. It gives important insights on loneliness, aloneness, and the loss of community spaces. Post-pandemic, our public gathering traditions have drastically plummeted, while struggles with loneliness have increased. This interview draws out the correlation, yet it also feels like a call to action to go do something IRL. Eat in the restaurant instead of doing delivery, create the meetup, volunteer with that group… I hope it inspires you to make some meaningful face-to-face connections. |

Let's talk about healing your business: stress reduction also comes in the form of a solid strategy. With two decades in business, I often meet people who've started new consulting practices and they are stressed out. There's way too much noise out there, way too many shiny objects, and folks are making expensive mistakes. Just recently I steered a consultant away from unnecessary steps that would have slowed him down and cost tens of thousands of dollars. If you’re an aspiring or new consultant, or if you’ve been trying to get a consulting business off the ground to no avail, check out this new offer I have for you. It's called The Consultant's Lab and it distills my decades of experience into a proven 5 part program that gets real results. |

Organizations need healing too: Toxic workplace cultures cost organizations millions in lost productivity, turnover, and inefficiency. Most of the time it's rooted in personality conflicts, passive aggressive habits, poor communication, and ineffective leadership. Everything DiSC is a tool that helps people understand themselves and others better so miscommunication and misunderstandings are prevented. I've used this for over 10 years, and have trained many consultants on using it in their businesses. Find out how to bring this into your organization to strengthen your teams. |
