A Day in the LiFE
Although I'm back home and plotting Bachelor Pact #3 today all by my lonesome, this past weekend was filled with so much joy that my heart nearly exploded! My author pal Tina Gallagher, my sister Jena and I headed down to Maryland for the most amazing reader event on the planet. I re-connected with old friends, like Avery Maxwell, and met new ones (looking at you Lyndsey Gallagher!) all while meeting (and getting spanked by) readers. Best. Weekend. Ever. If only I could do these reader events every weekend but, alas, someone has to write the books that get me there…

When a new to me reader at the event asked where to start with my biggest catalog (medieval romance) I gave them this rundown… if you read in chronological order, start at the beginning, with the Border Series, and then read its spinoff, Brotherhood of the Border. If you want my newest series, grab Knight School Chronicles and then go backward to my other “secret knightly order” one, the Broken Blade Series. If you want a taste of me but not a huge commitment, pick up the Highland Lovers duet, and if you like a slight touch of fantasy in your medieval, try Kingdoms of Meria. Last but not least, if you're into time travel, check out my two co-authored series. Whew! Where would you tell someone new to me to start? See them all more easily here, on my website.

On the Cissy front, I started Bachelor Pact #3 today. (Here's a behind the scenes look.) Since I usually begin with a one-line overview, I thought to share it with you:

Two long-time friends with secret history and unresolved feelings are forced to co-manage a bar—he's emotionally unavailable, she’s freshly heartbroken, and neither is ready for what's coming.

For the uninitiated, this is Beck's story. If you haven't begun the series yet, grab Fallen Hearts before book #2 releases this summer. It also occurred to me all three are forced proximity romances, although #2 is a true “ski chalet, snowbound” really stuck together story. I thought enemies to lovers was my favorite trope, but it seems I have a close second. Should I round it out and make the 4th one forced proximity too? Hmmm…

We just over a month away from the release of Tide of Waves and Secrets! I am obsessed with the cover. Are you on Instagram? My publisher made this fun video which you're welcome to share if you're as excited as me about this book. Doesn't it look great next to Whisper of War and Storms? Nerys is a heroine worth rooting for, and Tide officially answers the question about Sir Rowan's mysterious past. Last week I officially send book #3, Fate of Echoes and Embers, off the the editor so this series is really booking along. I'm going to be so sad to leave Elydor when it's over. Unless…

Each week, I’ll reveal a part of a powerful quote about strength, resilience, and courage, the same qualities my heroines embody. At the end of the month, when you’ve collected all four pieces, email me the full phrase for a chance to win a signed paperback featuring a strong/resilient heroine.

Week two: “…thing is the decision…"
