I'm always excited to watch a really great film or play adaptation of a book. Why? Because it's yet another way to inspire those who have never read it to do so.
As a kid, I spent a whole summer checking out the scripts of various Broadway musicals, despite the fact that I never heard the music until I was years older. Martin—lucky guy—grew up in Manhattan and the Bronx, and saw almost every play or musical in his years there, then collected their albums.
Recently, as I was floating around the Internet, I came across a this wonderful article from the King County (Issaquah, WA) Library that compiles such adaptations. Scroll down through it as see how many of those books you've read, or shows you've seen.
Feel free to write me back, here, and let me know.
