Hi First name / friend, Happy Friday (if you’re reading this on a Friday, of course). I hope you’ve had a great week? Mine’s been pretty good, I’m getting ready for the Adobe MAX London event at the end of the month. Maybe I’ll see some of you there? I’m working on a handful of videos covering some of the new releases Adobe is dropping, and I’ll be doing a livestream too on Adobe's YouTube channel. I'll share proper details about that next week, incase you want to watch. Lots to prep, but I’m excited to show you what’s coming.
It’s felt like a quieter week in the design world, no big announcements or major updates. And is it just me, or are we all starting to burn out on those AI-generated ChatGPT plastic action figures? It feels like one of those trends that goes viral fast, floods everyone’s feed, and then we’re all over it by day two.
Alright, enough rambling from me — let’s dive in. |

Adobe Fonts Just Got Even Better This week Adobe announced it has significantly enhanced its type offerings by adding over 1,500 new fonts to their Adobe Fonts library, marking it the largest expansion in five years. This update includes iconic typefaces such as Helvetica, Gotham, and Avenir, made possible through a collaboration with Monotype. In addition to these classic fonts, the expansion introduces support for global languages, incorporating scripts like Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Hindi. This enhancement ensures that designers can maintain brand consistency across diverse markets. If you've not used Adobe Fonts before, it really is as easy as searching for the font you want, and with one click it syncs up with all your Creative Cloud apps. Finally I can use Helvetica worry free. |

Food Truck Mock-Up Free mockups can be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes the quality just isn’t there. But every now and then, I stumble on one that’s genuinely great. This front-view food truck mockup from Mr.Mockup is one of those gems. It’s super clean, high-res, and gives your branding a really slick, realistic look. The truck sits in a cool little festival scene, and the smart layers make it super easy to drop your design in. If you’re working on anything food-related or just want something fun for your portfolio, this one’s definitely worth grabbing. And yes, it’s totally free. |

Animation Just Got Easier Last week, I talked about the importance of motion in design, and Jitter is a perfect example of how easy it can be to bring your work to life. This web-based animation tool makes it simple to create professional animations, even if you're not a motion design expert. With drag-and-drop functionality, you can import your artwork, use their ready-made templates, and instantly add movement to your designs it’s that easy. Jitter allows you to animate everything from UI elements to social media content, and it exports in multiple formats like GIF and video. Whether you’re working solo or collaborating with a team, it’s an intuitive platform that helps streamline the process. With customisable presets and the ability to share components, Jitter helps you create polished animations quickly and efficiently, making you look like a pro every time.
I'm actually going to go through some of my current portfolio pieces and see if I can use Jitter to make the work ‘pop’ a little more! |

Brand Design Showcase On the topic of motion, I came across an incredible brand identity project this week, and the way it was presented really stood out to me. Typically, I find myself falling into the comfort zone of creating a few mockups, adding a simple zoom effect, and calling it a day. But @galshirart on Instagram really takes the art of showcasing work to a whole new level. The creativity and thoughtfulness behind how the project was brought to life through motion is something I wanted to share with you all. This video isn’t just about showing off a design; it’s about telling a story and creating an experience that captivates viewers from start to finish. The way motion is used to amplify the brand’s identity is super interesting. If you’re looking for fresh ideas on how to present your own work in dynamic, creative ways, this is definitely worth checking out. Hopefully, it sparks some new ideas on how you can push your presentations to the next level. |
