april is here…And almost gone |

Spring is my second favorite season (it's in line after fall). There's an energy that kicks up more in the spring, than possibly even at the beginning of the year. The daylight lasts longer, the weather is warmer, the sun is out more. It's just one of those perfect seasons to daydream. But, with all the cottage core aesthetics (think Anne of Green Gables meets Taylor Swift's Folklore album) and breezy winds blowing through, there's a lot of adulting that takes place. It's tax season, and, of course, it's the busiest time at work with commencement and all the honors recognition ceremonies and cultural celebrations that come along with it. 🌸🦋🌷🌱🐇🐣🐸 |

I think we're all in the mood for a slower season. Forget the hustle, forget packing your schedule just because. It's a season for setting intentions, whether it's with your health, relationships, work or finding more time to dedicate to hobbies. I've made more time to create and dream and write again. Which I've loved! We have to find time to do things that stir our soul outside of the 8-5 jobs or other roles and titles we hold. I've survived most of the challenging work events so far. I was house/dog sitting the last week, attended a wedding for one of my good friends. Many good things 💛 There are quite a few things left to look forward to. Like a California Adventures trip this weekend, Easter festivities with family at church and our annual lunch, volunteering at the LA Times Festival of Books at USC next weekend. And, of course, lots of books and great reading with new releases coming soon! |

- Home Improvement | I started watching a bit out of order, late in season 4 or 5. So I went back to the beginning once I finished. I'm now on season 2.
- One Tree Hill | As I've been listening to the Drama Queens Podcast once again, I've wanted to stay a bit more on track with the stories and anecdotes
- The Rookie | I caught up on this season – It's getting good again. Things seem a bit more promising with Chenford and we've got a lot more action going down each week.
- Hacks | I'd heard so many good things about this show, especially during award seasons. The premise seemed different - a bit of a washed up comedian who gives a TV writer a second chance (after being canceled for a comment online). It can be a bit out there at times, but it's funny and keeps things moving along with their one-liners and wacky jokes. It's one of those easy watches and the
- Paradise | I love Sterling K. Brown. And this is the brainchild of Dan Fogelman, who created “This is Us." Aside from that, I spotted in a few of the promo pics and previews that they were in “Stars Hollow” on the Warner Bros. Studio lot. It's a wild ride, like Scandal meets The West Wing? It takes place in the Oval Office. The president (James Marsden) is killed, but all kinds of secrets and lies unravel from his death. This one takes a lot of paying attention to the details and focusing.
- Ransom Canyon | I just started watching this one yesterday, since it just premiered on Netflix. It's kind of lame but also sucks me into the small town drama. I love Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, so that's why I'm watching, but the characters don't feel too likable, to me. It's like Sweet Magnolias meets Virgin River. It's a bit darker and spicier, but seems to be one of those perfect spring break watches. I finished that one earlier this afternoon.
- The Residence | My mom and I started this one a while back but ended up waiting to finish the last episode-and-a-half. I don't think it's my favorite of Shonda's, but it's definitely a great premise. Whodunnit in the White House? Excellent dialogue, witty characters and a plot that makes you think.

I've been listening to a lot of podcasts lately. In fact, that's most of what I've listened to in the last couple of weeks while I work from home. - Drama Queens hosted by Hilarie Burton Morgan, Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz | The ladies of One Tree Hill rewatch this 2000s teen drama from The WB (turned CW) and it's fascinating to hear what they've gone through, the little bubble they lived in in Wilmington, North Carolina and the behind-the-scenes stories. It really makes the show come alive in different ways.
- Call Her Daddy by “founding father” Alex Cooper | Normally this wouldn't exactly be my type of podcast, but I discovered her when she had the first sit-down interview with Kelsea Ballerini after her divorce. I don't listen to every episode, but have really enjoyed her bigger interviews with Ellen Pompeo, Khloe Kardashian, Lauren Graham, Bethany Joy Lenz and Monica Lewinsky, just to name a few. She's able to sit down and chat like girlfriends with those that she's had on the show and it's a really special quality and community that she's created.
- Gilmore to Say by Tara + Haley | I love these two - I found them on Gilmore Girls Instagram, scrolling through different posts one day and fell in love. These two super fans dissect each episode and have even expanded into a book club. I love their dedication, style and their personalities. Again, it's about the community these two have created with their live events, podcasts, book clubs and all that jazz.
Other than that, I've been letting Spotify and Apple curate playlists for me and shuffle songs. I have the hardest time finding the perfect vibe playlist these days, unless I just go straight to Kelsea Ballerini or Taylor Swift. I just need some happy jams these days, you know? |

I haven't been reading as much lately, if you can believe it. I guess since I've been catching up on more TV, that's where I've been focusing more of my time. I've finished Promise Me Sunshine and Summer in the City over the last week-and-a-half, which were two perfect reads for the springtime and easing into those beach reads for the summer. I'm currently reading Wild and Wrangled, Out of the Woods and Husbands. It is the time for all the beach reads and something easier. I read quite a few heavy memoirs back to back to back, so it was necessary. OH! Also, the new Jennifer E. Smith, “Fun for the Whole Family.” The Break-Up Pact, One Last Summer and Forever…are others I bought on my Kindle to have in the lineup for the rest of the season. |
