As we step into April and watch Portland come alive with spring color, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the changes we’re seeing - not just in the season, but in the broader economic landscape.
 
It’s no secret that the market has been adjusting. Interest rates, inflation, and affordability continue to shape real estate decisions for many. But amidst these shifts, one thing remains true - people are still buying and selling homes because life keeps moving. Whether it’s a growing family, a job relocation, downsizing, or the dream of living in a new neighborhood, these motivations are real - and they’re powerful.
 
The good news? Inventory is starting to pick up, and with the right strategy and guidance, opportunities still exist for both buyers and sellers to move confidently. Navigating the market may look a little different than it did a year ago, but that’s where experience and local insight make all the difference.

This could make you $27,000!
 
Though the market has been fairly stagnant for over 24 months, I continue to analyze the current market and data to uncover opportunities for my clients. Realtor.com just concluded a national study which showed that on average sellers listing their home between April 13-19, 2025 can expect to make $27,000 more than those listing at the beginning of the year!
 
This time period strikes a rare balance of strong prices, solid buyer demand, manageable competition and a pace that leans toward sellers. It’s a moment in time when factors align just right to give you a smoother selling experience and more leverage.
 
Yes, affordability is still a hurdle for many, but with the combination of mortgage rates expected to slowly drop and more homes entering the market, there’s reason to feel optimistic.
 
By beginning the process now, we can time it perfectly to close in on the window of time that affords you increased profits on the sale of your home.
