Hey First name / friend!
Would you believe me if I told you that you can elevate any trip—without flying private or booking the most expensive hotel?
For some, luxury means first class, butlers, and yachts. For others, not having to share a bathroom. For me, a pretty quiet hotel with decent AC.
But I believe that little luxuries add up too—and they can be enjoyed by a traveler on a budget.
This week is all about smart, strategic upgrades that make your vacations smoother, more comfortable, and more memorable—not necessarily flashy or fancy. These are the “Oh wow, I wouldn’t have thought of that!” details I love to weave into itineraries or recommend to clients during the planning process.
Whether you’ve got a trip already on the books or you’re still in the daydreaming phase, here are five (relatively low-cost!) ways to VIP your next adventure 🥂
I’m here to help you travel smarter, not fancier. But if you want fancy, I can be all in.
Speaking of which, I encourage clients to use credit card points for flights as they are ridiculously expensive. If you have AMEX or Chase miles these points are valuable! 100,000 points is worth about $1,000. Here is the rub, finding award seats is a tricky time sucking very complicated business.
My new secret weapon and favorite thing: Points.me concierge service.
In the past month they have secured two high season Business Class round trip tickets to Italy (222,000 points) and Japan ( 492,000 points ) for me.
A fraction of the points when I tried to figure it out on my own. I was about to blow 1.5M points just on the 2 Tokyo seats after 4 hours of “pointless” searching. The people at Points.me are Points Ninjas. They handle everything, finding the flights, booking, helping you transfer the miles… all for a $200 per ticket fee.

P.S If my newsletters make you smile, laugh, or briefly forget the existential dread-- go ahead and forward it to someone you like ( or mildly tolerate).
