Tara Retreats Collective is a group based in Berlin who organises women-led retreats & gatherings to bring people together to reconnect with nature, each other, and themselves through movement, creativity and community. Tara's mission is to foster supportive & empowering spaces for personal and collective healing.

This year they are collaborating with a group of Palestinian facilitators that attended last year's retreat (a good portion of the activism and healing came from them and for them), with the Shams community (social enterprise from Jordan), and with artists and volunteers from across Europe.

COMMUNITY AND SOLIDARITY
Build meaningful connections with fellow change-makers across diverse causes, through brainstorming activities and informal spaces for sharing the difficulties of our struggles, fostering a shared sense of purpose and solidarity.
NATURE CONNECTION & CREATIVE EXPRESSION
This gathering invites you to immerse yourself in the nature that will surround us and explore creative expression as paths toward grounding and resilience (painting, dancing, collage of natural elements, ceramics, art, contemplation)
COLLECTIVE WISDOM EXCHANGE
Engage in sessions where participants from different backgrounds and fields share tools, knowledge, and experiences that they have found or invented for sustainable and regenerative activism.
GROUNDING AND SOMATIC PRACTICES
Begin each day with breathwork, meditation, and movement to reconnect with your body and spirit. Somatic practices will help release tension and foster emotional healing, building resilience for your ongoing work.

Last year I saw the information of a week-long Gathering called Sacred activism’ in May in Montenegro on Instagram. Even though I didn’t know anyone there, I resonated a lot with the experience, and I booked my flights. Those of you who know me know know how much I care about creating safe spaces for sharing and expressing how activism can drain us and for taking care of us (some of you have come to my retreats).

Like the title indicates, “sacred activism” is a way of approaching activism that goes beyond the impact of our actions for changing the world. I understood it through practice. Together, we celebrated, like a tribe, how transcendental it is to be an activistto be HUMAN– who is sensitive and is committed to different social causes: of ecology and the Earth, of women’s rights, of the LGBTIQ+ community, of the diversity of cultures (fighting racism and capitalism), of the world’s endangered languages, of personal growth, of mental health

At Montenegro they proposed a space to release some of the weight that feeling and seeing what the world is going through has for us, to heal together, take care of each other, reclaiming the importance of rest and regeneration spaces –and of celebration! Because, amidst all this solemnity, we had a blast. Sharing among equals, individuals who feel and live like you is fucking cool. The connections were so fantastic that I think I've had to dissociate in order to get back to reality after this experience.

We did all kinds of memorable workshops, from more mental, to emotional, to creative, and movement-like. My favourite moments were the Grandmother workshop with Jamila, where we recalled our grandmothers in a very sweet and personal way, and a ritual for the Nakba Memorial in a centuries-old olive trees field. It was a very heartfelt moment. Our Palestinian friends needed to be held in silence, and feel our support, and we needed to be there and do that for them. I understood much better how much they have suffered and all the injustice that is happening. Later we did a yummy picnic with Palestinian food because activists like to feed the belly too hihi.

💰 Between 150 - 300€ (according to accommodation type)
