This one has been rolling around in my imagination:

She was well-versed in all of the instruments' uses, but it still bothered her that the numbers Omen's father 7 had sent were more precise than the numbers she'd figured out herself. He'd calculated her position out beyond a thousandth of a fraction. How does he do that?

7 had claimed that he could be more precise if she thought it necessary, but he'd also assured her that the portal's magic didn't actually require more exact numbers. Just rub it in! He was right, of course. In fact, the portal's magic didn't require anything beyond the numbers she'd already figured out, but she enjoyed the security of working with his more precise calculations. But how did he manage so quickly? It bothered her.
