change is afoot
Some of the changes are easy to spot—especially at the entrance. We’ve added lighting to our new sign, so even in the dark, you’ll know you’ve arrived. It shines bright, like a quiet welcome home. The old road has been torn out and we’re preparing to lay fresh tarmac, complete with clearly marked parking spots to maximize space!
Inside, our dining room floors have been refreshed—sanded, sealed, ready to carry meals and memories alike. New floor mats are in place too, a small detail, but one that says: “we’re expecting you.”
Volunteer Weekend Highlights
Many of you joined us this past weekend to prepare this place for the season ahead—and we’re still in awe of what was accomplished. A new trail bridge was built. The ever-persistent beaver dam was cleared (yet again). Wood was split and the shed fully restocked for fires to come. Volunteers raked months of leaves from under Bethel, re-sanded the volleyball court, and spread fresh mulch across the playground.
It rained most of the weekend, but that didn’t slow anyone down. It was joyful, muddy, faithful work. We don’t take that lightly. Thank you for showing up with such faithfulness
1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Coming up: FAMILY CAMP 2025!
Haven't signed up? It's not too late!
WEEK 1: 06/29-07/4
Speakers: Tina & John
Tina and John Teng-Henson bring a deep well of faith, cross-cultural wisdom, and grounded joy. Tina, a Harvard alumna and Fuller Seminary graduate, has spent years ministering across diverse communities—from college campuses to local churches—through pastoral care, discipleship, and chaplaincy. John, rooted in Louisville, Kentucky and shaped by a multigenerational Christian family, brings his quiet strength and servant-hearted presence as a tech professional, Scout dad, and faithful supporter of Tina’s ministry. Together, they parent three spirited children, love hiking, and serve with open hands and full hearts. Their partnership is marked by grace, hospitality, and a shared desire to love people well—whether at home, in church, or among the unhoused in Silicon Valley.
WEEK 2: 07/6-07/11
Speakers: The Grecos
Dorothy and Christopher Greco are storytellers, spiritual guides, and faithful companions on the journey of marriage and faith. Dorothy is a gifted author and photojournalist whose work has been featured in Christianity Today, Relevant, and Missio Alliance. Her books—Making Marriage Beautiful and Marriage in the Middle—offer deep, real, and redemptive insight into relationships. Christopher brings creativity and pastoral warmth as a theater arts teacher and worship leader. They’ve raised three grown sons, and now savor long walks, good food, and rich conversations about theology and life. Whether in word, worship, or wonder, the Grecos invite others to grow deeper in Christ and closer in community.

A delicately Woven Meditation on Spring From Our Associate Director

Nothing Gold Can Stay
By Robert Frost

Even the lush hills of Ireland can't feel so green as New England after a long, harsh Winter! As I write to you, I'm surrounded on all sides by the vibrancy of budding, blossoming, beautiful greenery we belovedly know as Spring. I can see clearly now, green MUST be the color of love. Why else would God pour it out in such a gratuitous fashion at a time we so desperately need it? This is the Gospel. This is the story of Spring. We have truly been given a gift so good, without earning or deserving it. May we allow ourselves to be led into renewal through Christ, so we might blossom more brightly than the flowers and sing more sweetly than the birds. And let's not forget to celebrate, like the life we see dancing in the chlorophyl, rejoicing with each droplet of rain absorbed!

Toah Nipi thanks you for your participation in this corner of the Kingdom.

We are grateful beyond measure for your deposits here. Making the camp welcoming and beautiful for guests who will enjoy it, this year to next. I write to remind you that this space changes and grows alongside you, your family, and your faith community. The old is passing and making room for new growth, in the forest and in each of our lives. You, my brothers and sisters, are cordially invited to keep on laboring alongside us in the renewing of this holy space as we hold the past and look to the future. It's yours to enjoy, to honor, to share. Thank you for making Toah Nipi beautiful through the worship of joy, prayer, and hard work. We will continue to dedicate this refuge of peace to Christ's purposes - for the moment of time we're here, let's make it Gold.

Writing to you faithfully from Toah Nipi,
Elisha Hodgson
Associate Director
Nothing Gold Can Stay
By Robert Frost

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

A word from greg
Even a short drive these days reveals there is something strange, energetic and magical happening in the woods. It's the moment of the year that Robert Frost called out in Nature's First Green is Gold. Something, someone is waking, change is coming.

What a Wonder; spring corresponding with the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus. And with the outpouring of the Spirit, everything changes.    "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."  Slumber, confusion, darkness a memory.

As you ruminate and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus these days between the days...I challenge you this season to drink deeply and be filled with the Spirit.  Allow the Spirit to daily, moment by moment, wake you from the dead - to walk in newness of life!

In His service,  - Greg, @Toah Nipi
