— hi, friends :) writing this to you from my place in silver lake. it's been a wild few weeks, wow wow WOW. 

— there is truly so much happening that i will be able to share with you VERY SOON. but just know-big life goals are being surpassed this week. ahhhhhh i cannot wait to tell you…it will make sense soon i promise.

— but yes. big goals being crunched. lots of big girl activities. but mainly, i've been settling into life back on the east side. it is really great, for the most part. and since we're here, and i talk about the real stuff here, i'll elaborate on that ‘most.’ i think one thing i'm realizing is that wherever i live, there might always be something missing. i can't get the queer community, locality, and access i have on the east side, in topanga. and i can't get the real, raw, roaring nature i want here. the same goes for when i'm thinking about how i live so far from my parents in northern california. i wouldn't want to live there right now, but i'm definitely giving something up with that choice. so, compromise is the name of the game. and i think it might just be about which compromise you're OK with. 

— and i am more than okay with the compromise of being over here. but it kinda hit me in the face when i was visiting a silver lake friend's apartment building. 

— on the lobby TV they had a slideshow of LA activities playing, and one of the slides was - DAY TRIP TO TOPANGA STATE PARK. it kinda hit me like wuuuuuuut - wdym DAY TRIP. I LIVED THERE. topanga wasn't some esoteric destination on a screen - it was my life. 

— it was the warm bricks underfoot in the backyard. it was quiet canyon roads at night and frogs croaking outside my window in february. it was, in many ways, my everything. and there's a deep part of me that misses it - that feeling of being OUT THERE. IN THE WOODS. for real this time, on my own terms, a year that no one else had to understand but me. and ultimately - it stopped being right. this is true. and i think i really am happier over here on the eastside, happier in this compromise. but as i said earlier - i'm definitely not complete. it's definitely not perfect. so maybe the solution is to have multiple places and alternate between them, lol. one of my real estate agent homies has a place in ojai and bounces between that and LA, and dang, if that's not the dream idk what is.

— but yeah, just been thinking about place, and space, and how i used to live in may of 2024, and how that differs from may of 2025. nostaliga is a funny thing.

— but NOW FOR THE GOOD SH*T. oh my god you guys - there is a lot! i feel like i've been stepping out of a chrysalis lately. kinda girlbossing all over town, and not having to drive an hour to do it (as in, topanga → eastside). i went to a HAIM concert last week with my real estate besties jeremy & rachel and i drove EIGHT MINUTES back home. that was pretty sweet. i also am thoroughly enjoying regular reservoir runs (except, f*ck these shin splints dude, i haven't run in 2 weeks, just power-walked like the future hot mom i am). coffee shops and friends and queer gym time and prepping lots of special houses.

— although one new thing coming up is, i'm thinking about summer. SUMMER. WTF!?!?!?!? HOW ARE WE ALREADY AT 2025 SUMMER. honestly, i am lowkey a little still in summer 2024. since september of last year, i don't think i ever stopped thinking about it. it was downright magical. mystical. i get the tinglies just thinking about july. about august. about all the outside time i got to do. actually swimming in bodies of water because it was FINALLY warm enough to do so. camping trips with friends and fam. selling cool houses like hotcakes. and looking pretty cute while doing it!!

— this summer, i am envisioning much the same. so. HERE LIES SAM'S SUMMER 2025 GOALS AND MANIFESTATIONS:

— in terms of what's coming up … continually on the hunt with my slew of buyers. prepping houses with the team to launch. i have an INSANE listing dropping mid-may. like, quite possibly the coolest house i've ever sold. you're not ready.
