This month is dedicated to all those amazing women who are mothers! I am filled with thoughts of how blessed I am to have been given a most incredible woman as my own precious mom who still lovingly watches over me from heaven above. She’s a perfect angel!
I also honor the countless women in the world who are also mothers. What an extraordinary role to play! What makes a mother? In my own thoughts, she’s a woman dedicated to loving and caring for her “children” whether they are her biological children, her adopted children, her pet children, her godchildren, or anyone whom she shares that same loving commitment to care for in a motherly fashion.
I am definitely a non-traditional mom…and joyfully take on the role of mother to my precious nephews and niece, and the many wonderful people and pets I’ve had in my life. They bring out the mother in me and showering them with my love and care is an absolute privilege.
Being in the jewelry industry for so many years, I can tell you jewelry – especially personalized jewelry – is the gift of choice to honor your mom. There are countless ways, designs and styles with names, initials, birthstones, engraved words or messages which make it a very personal and memorable gift for your mom.
Or, she may love and desire a diamond or gemstone piece if she has a favorite color! Let’s connect so I can help you choose that special heartfelt gift for your mom this Mother’s Day.
The other beautiful thing about the month of May is it brings in the flowers, trees and plants all coming to life with the warmer air arriving here in Wisconsin. I get to create a vision for my gardens and pots and shop for lovely and unusual flowers and plants at my favorite garden centers to adorn the outside of my home.
I always go way overboard, for not only is it joyful to plan and shop, but then I get to create the look by getting my hands in the dirt to make it gorgeous! Talk about grounding yourself! I enjoy lovingly tending to my gardens and pots each day throughout the summer and into early fall. It’s a perfect time of solitude, reflection and gratitude and I love how my neighbors are equally as delighted as I am with my efforts.
May reminds us: even the tiniest seed can become a crown jewel when nurtured by hope.
STORIES OF INTRIGUE
Real
“Natural diamonds are finite geological marvels formed billions of years ago. They are as real as the essence of time and creation, having predated all life on Earth.”
“Natural diamonds are inherently real, embodying the essence of existence, having predated all life on Earth. They possess a rare and unparalleled authenticity and are finite geological marvels as real as time and creation itself. Billions of years ago, through extreme heat and pressure deep within the Earth’s core, carbon was shaped into brilliant gems we call diamonds. Projected towards Earth’s surface through prehistoric volcanic activity, these natural phenomena are the most ancient and precious treasures you’ll ever touch, let alone own.
The scarcity of their creation adds to their mystique, as the entire global yield of diamonds weighing 1 carat and above would only fill an exercise ball. This limited quantity underscores their finite nature, making each natural diamond a truly exceptional and treasured product of the Earth. The remarkable journey of these gems from the Earth’s depths to our hands is a story of exceptional fortune and underscores these timeless gems’ extraordinary nature.”

It kicks off on May 8th with a fabulous luncheon and fashion show at the Women’s Club of Wisconsin to benefit their foundation. Faye will be featuring the latest in fashion and accessories on live models from her shop at the fashion show and I will be featuring the beautiful sterling silver, gold and diamond bracelets from Vahan Jewelry…which is jewelry for every lifestyle and a great complement to the clothing lines Faye will be featuring. We will also have a line of Vintage and “preloved” fine jewelry…one of a kind, unique treasures to take home with you to accessorize your own fashions.
There’s a pop-up shop before and after the fashion show where you can purchase any of the clothing or jewelry items and take them home with you! Then on May 9th, we will be hosting a VIP Jewelry Trunk Show right at Faye’s Boutique in Mequon, WI where you can try on clothes and jewelry and find some fine jewelry pieces you absolutely love and want to have as part of your own personal collection.
Here’s the link to the two-day event details. You can purchase tickets for the luncheon/fashion show on May 8th through the Eventbrite link. The event at Faye’s is May 9th in the boutique and does not require a ticket purchase, however, we’d love an RSVP so we know you’re coming!

KAT’S WISDOM CORNER: TIPS FOR A HEALTHY, WEALTHY & FUN LIFE!
RECOGNIZING AND CELEBRATING WISDOM!
We live in a world obsessed with intelligence! Throughout my career and life, I’ve always wanted to be recognized for my intelligence…to be thought of as a “smart” person. But as I mature, I realize what gets you much further in life is having the wisdom to make the right decisions and this can come only from life’s experiences and mentorship from the wise. Many times, it takes trial and error of making the same mistake twice! Ouch!
Wisdom is harder to spot. Wisdom doesn’t brag. Intelligence often does. Intelligence is flashy. Wisdom is foundational. Intelligence is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad. So, how do we recognize wisdom? It often comes with traits of humility, experience, patience, and empathy. Wisdom isn’t loud…it sits back analyzing and watching.
Smart people often get the spotlight. They write the code, lead the meetings, and talk confidently. Meanwhile, the wise person in the corner is quietly watching, sizing up the situation and usually knows how it ends. Wisdom doesn’t show off. It doesn’t interrupt. It waits. We should recognize and celebrate the quiet brilliance of the wise ones because knowing stuff is good, but knowing what matters – well that’s next level!
So why should we celebrate wisdom more? Using our wisdom tells us when to speak and when to stay silent, when to act and when to wait, and most importantly, when to admit we don’t know enough yet. Life is a journey of continual learning. It’s ok to say “I don’t know” with confidence. Wisdom isn’t afraid of being wrong, because it’s more interested in “getting it right”.
Ultimately, we need brilliant minds…the thinkers and inventors. But…here’s to the wise ones. The mentors. The quiet observers. They are the people who don’t always have the fastest answer, but usually have the best one. Wisdom is what I am working towards. I hope to keep gaining in wisdom as I go through life.
It’s not easy to achieve, but it’s worthwhile! It’s a journey not a destination as we are continually evolving. I have a few people in my life whom I consider very wise, and I go to them first when faced with a dilemma or difficult situation. I love their perspectives and it helps to guide me, ground me, and teach me. I want to be a student of wisdom!
