The Rhythms of Renewal: AyurvedaWisdom for May!
Dear First name / friend,

Welcome to the rainy season on the west coast!  Reservoirs are replenishing, rivers are running high, water tables are rising, and it’s the time of year of abundant water.

Sunny skies when they appear, call us to drop everything and go outside to expose the pupils to sunrays and photons.  Grey skies, when they come, call us to activate, move and get busy downloading new insights and innovations.

Disease proneness at this time of year includes congestions, allergies, effusions, swellings and attachments, both physical and emotional.

Tips for helping to stay balanced during the spring rainy season, when kapha qualities still dominate and have not yet matured into the warmth of May:
  • Favour warm, nourishing, light foods e.g. soups, stews, individualy-suited grains such as millet, wild rice or barley and steamed veggies
  • Prepare for the weather with layers and a hat
  • Practice cloud gazing for their mystical shapes, movements and omens
  • Notice birds and how they adapt to quick weather changes, new births in the family, as they complete migrations and begin nesting
  • Eat early according to hunger and before sundown
  • Answer the call of nature right away – no suppression or delay
  • Nasya Therapy or nose drops such as Super Nasya Oil

Learn all seven levels of the pulse – including Prakriti/Vikruti, (Dosha), Tissues (Dhatus), Sub-Doshas (15 finger positions), Ojas/Tejas/Prana and Manas Prakruti/Vikruti.

In this seminar, you will learn precision techniques for understanding how to interpret the ancient Ayurveda clinical wisdom at your fingertips, as taught to me by my beloved mentor of Ayurveda, Vaidya Vasant D. Lad over many years.

This method reveals meaningful insights about your or your client’s life path, beyond simple rate and rhythm readings. This is a practical seminar of learning together in a small group setting.

As an Ayurveda Doctor (NAMA), I look forward to sharing the subtle clinical findings hidden behind each one’s heart impulse.

This summer solstice Guru-Kula style seminar is now an annual retreat event at my home in Surrey, BC.  After teaching this method internationally in India and the US, with Dr. Lad’s precious blessings, I’m now continuing the four-day retreat program.

I remember Dr. Lad’s prophetic words from early in my training: “When you master the pulse reading, the Indian doctors will seek you out to learn.”

Still today, graduating Ayurveda physicians in India do not learn this critical skill due to the large class sizes and a lack of skilled practitioners/teachers nowadays.

I was able to learn this technique only because of having an apprenticeship training, the only Ayurveda path available to me at the time, starting some thirty years back.

Nadi Pariksha is the primary skill of the Ashta Vidha Pariksha (Eight-Fold Assessment science), learned over many years and requiring consistent practice. It is best learned in person with individual attention.

**NAMA pace credits apply – be sure to request your certificate of attendance in advance**
