Before You Go
WEIRD RULES TO KNOW

Hey First name / friend!

It’s no secret that travel looks a little different everywhere you go (that’s half the fun, right?).

But beyond the usual cultural norms or new-to-you foods, some destinations have very specific rules that can catch even the most seasoned travelers off guard.

From banned clothing to restricted medications, it’s the little details that can turn into major headaches if you don’t know about them ahead of time.

(Hint hint: just one more reason it’s worth having a travel advisor in your corner 😉)

Here are a few weird but important rules to know before you jet off ↓

No Camo in Antigua

Have any camo-printed clothing packed? Leave it at home! Wearing or carrying anything with a camouflage pattern is illegal for civilians on the island — it’s reserved strictly for military personnel. In fact, this is a common law across the Caribbean, so be aware!
Medications Banned In Japan

Medications like Sudafed, Adderall, and even some nasal sprays are restricted or completely banned in Japan. You’ll need to check ahead and possibly get approval before traveling with them!
No High Heels At Ancient Sites

Historic preservation is serious business! To protect ancient monuments like the Acropolis, visitors aren’t allowed to wear high heels when exploring these sites.
No Gum In Singapore

Bringing chewing gum into Singapore is heavily restricted — and spitting it out on the street? Big fines. Definitely not worth it for a piece of Doublemint!
No Sandcastles In Spain

Think twice before building your beach masterpiece — some towns in Spain have banned sandcastles because they're considered a public hazard or obstruction!
I couldn't leave you without a few honorable mentions, now could I?
  • No swearing in public in the UAE (serious fines!)
  • No feeding pigeons in Venice (yes, really)
  • No running out of gas on Germany’s autobahn (also illegal!)
There’s way more to travel than just knowing what to pack — and that’s where working with a travel advisor makes all the difference. From visa rules to camo bans, I’m here to help you travel smarter (and stress-free).
