 TRIPS FOR ANYTIME

Hey First name / friend!

Whether you're planning something special for your mom, your kids, or someone else who means the world to you, there's something unforgettable about carving out time for a getaway.

Some of my favorite travel memories are the trips I planned with my parents, and our boys.   It isn't  always smooth sailing traveling with family, but it is so worth it.

I did three trips to Europe with my parents, now that they are gone I am sorry that we did not travel together more.  Of course, work, kids, aging parents and finances can get in the way.

I was talking to a friend recently and he is calling this stage of life “ Why Not?”
Sam is not a fan of “Why Not”, as he is more of a home body then I am.  And he keeps a sharper eye on our finances than I do.   If I can go, I am out the door.

It can be very easy to say no to travel, or just put it off.

But then the opportunity is gone. Kids grow up, parents can't travel anymore, hiking Kilimanjaro is just not physically possible.    ( I would like to think I could still do this, but hiking Bhutan kicked my A** )

You don’t need a milestone birthday, graduation, or a “last fling before the ring” to take a meaningful trip! Sometimes the best reason is no reason at all.

WHY NOT?!

The vibe? Soft sweaters, scenic strolls, and long chats over tea. These options are perfect for those who love a slower pace and all things cozy and picturesque.

📍 The Cotswolds, England: With honey-hued cottages, thatched roofs, and afternoon teas in garden cafés, the Cotswolds are straight out of a storybook. Stroll side-by-side through villages like Bourton-on-the-Water and Bibury, explore castle ruins, and cozy up in a boutique inn with fireside wine. Best time to go? Late spring (May–June) or early autumn (September) for mild weather and fewer crowds.

📍 New England: Picture-perfect foliage, roadside cider stands, and crisp autumn air make this a seasonal favorite. Explore the charm of Vermont, Maine, or Massachusetts with hikes, local shopping, and stays in historic inns. Best time to go? Late September to mid-October for peak foliage.

📍 Bariloche, Argentina: Nestled in the Andes, Bariloche brings Swiss-alpine charm to South America. Expect snow-capped peaks, lakeside strolls, chocolate cafés, cozy lodges, and a relaxed pace that’s ideal for bonding. Hike scenic trails, sip hot cocoa with mountain views, and slow down in one of Patagonia’s most charming towns. Best time to go? December–March (Argentine summer) for ideal weather and lake views, or May–August for snowy winter coziness.
