As the dust settles from the 2024 Presidential election, the implications for health care policy are beginning to take shape. From drug pricing to the overall cost of care, the election results will have a lasting impact on the health care landscape.

Join us this May for an insightful Advocacy Grand Rounds session with Larry Levitt, Executive Vice President for Health Policy at the Kaiser Family Foundation. We’ll dive into the key health care policy shifts emerging in 2025 and what they mean for patients, providers, and advocates across the country.

Bernard Lown Award for Social Responsibility

We are incredibly proud of this year's Bernard Lown Award recipient, Dr. Reshma Ramachandran. Dr. Ramachandran, MD, MPP, MHS, played a key role in advancing legislative reforms to the FDA’s accelerated approval pathway and clinical trial diversity through her leadership at Doctors for America, while also helping to halt the PASTEUR Act, which would have funneled billions to pharmaceutical companies without ensuring clinical benefit. She led the expansion of DFA’s FDA Task Force and mobilized more than 1,500 physicians to advocate for regulatory reforms through targeted Congressional outreach. Additionally, she mentors the next generation of social justice advocates through her work with UAEM, AMSA, and Yale CRRIT.

"Dr. Ramachandran represented the best combination of passion, intellectual rigor, outspokenness, commitment to activity beyond her clinical responsibilities, and broad national impact that would have made Dr. Lown proud."
