Hiring is Just the Start–Here's What NPN Offers for Our Nonprofit Community

Our search clients spend several months with us on a weekly basis–talking, planning, interviewing, hiring and engaging. We love it!! We learn a lot about the organization and get attached to our clients the same way we want our candidates to get attached.
 
But what happens after a client hires their candidate? Some things are baked into contracts and discussed early; others are services we offer to clients and the community but are often forgotten.
 
So, what do we do after a hire is complete?
 
First we celebrate–Way to Go Team!! So exciting for your new team member to join your organization. You’ll see newly placed candidates listed in our newsletter–and these are based on the organization/candidate’s timing for a public announcement. We also try to monitor public announcements in your social media or email newsletters and amplify those with our network as well.
 
Then, we have either a cohort or individual coaching available for the candidates. This is focused on on-boarding, answering questions, finding resources and providing third-party, safe and secure space as candidates learn their new role and organization.

But, we never really go away! Here are some of the other supports we can offer, beyond the search: 
  • We’ve been invited to support strategic planning, board training/engagement, and 1:1 coaching/support.
  • We have assisted organizations in setting up performance evaluation surveys for leadership as well as for board members.
  • We provide salary surveys as organizations hire new individuals or look at adjusting internal salaries to reflect skills as well as cost of living.
  • We offer an on-going in-person conversation cohort for Leaders of Color placed by NPN.
  • We review job descriptions and offer recommendations for ad placement.
  • We partner with A to Z Staffing on direct hire requests for Manager level and more junior positions.
NPN understands that hiring isn’t a one-time and you’re done event.  It takes time to adjust, to build trust, to engage in change management and to grow.  We are organization’s partners today and in the future. You can always reach out to us when you need support.

After 5 years of being fully remote, we missed being together as a team and having a location to invite our organizations to gather.
