🌸🌼 As we wrap up the month, we wanted to take a moment to look back on one of our favorite events of the year — the Dixon May Fair! 💃✨
Earlier this month, Dixon Dance Studio had the joy of continuing one of our favorite annual traditions — dancing in the parade and performing on the stage inside the fairgrounds 🎉🎭 And with this year’s theme being 🌸 Flower Power 🌼, we brought ALL the groovy vibes! 🌈💐🌞
From twirls to smiles and flower crowns to funky moves, our dancers lit up the fair with joy and energy 💫💃🌺
Thank you to everyone who came out and cheered us on — we felt the love! 💖 We’re already counting down the days ‘til next year! 🌼🌟
SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
2025
JUNE 2025
Sophia Hatfield
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are to attend the university of Alabama while majoring/ studying in sports management and doing a minor in sports media.
If you could go back and tell your younger self one thing about dance, school, or life, what would it be?
One thing I would tell myself is really be in the present and take it all in and the memories because before you know it, it’ll be over in a blink of an eye and that everyone has different time lines, so don’t stress your on the path that you need to be!
Paige Purcell
What are your plans after graduation?
I will be attending California Polytechnic State University,
San Luis Obispo, to major in Business Administration and concentrate in Finance or Marketing. I also plan to continue my dance education by joining clubs and taking classes in San Luis Obispo!
If you could go back and tell your younger self one thing about dance, school, or life, what would it be?
If I could go back and tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: take in every single moment. At the start of senior year, I felt like I had all the time in the world, but it flew by faster than I could’ve imagined. Now, with only a few weeks left of high school and my final recital approaching after so so many years, I wish I had paused more often to soak it all in. The time really does go by in a blink, and I would give anything to slow it down.
Presleigh Dahlin
What are your plans after graduation?
I’m attending UC Santa Barbara and majoring in Pre-Biology following the Pre-Med track.
If you could go back and tell your younger self one thing about dance, school, or life, what would it be?
I would tell myself not to worry so much about things you can’t control because everything always works out in the end, regardless of how overwhelming something may feel in the moment. Where you are is exactly where you need to be.
