Happy May Days! Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. It's a time of rebirth, a time to get in the dirt and plant your flowers and garden and time to take care of yourself. May is also Mental Health Awareness Month! Did you know that people who regularly eat fish are 20% less likely than their peers to have depression. Think of fish as a multi-vitamin for the brain. I encourage everyone to try and add fish and seafood to their diet at least once a week and see what a difference it can make in your overall health. In the meantime be sure to check out our upcoming events and get involved. We have something for everyone! Thanks for being part of our growing journey! |

Thursday, may 15 Join us for an Ocean Trivia Night at Larrabee Lager Company on Thursday, May 15 from 7-8:30pm. Get ready to make waves with a night full of fun, facts, and fantastic prizes. We’ll dive into sea-themed knowledge with plenty of other exciting rounds to keep everyone on their toes! A portion of the funds raised will benefit Bellingham SeaFeast's Blue Schools program, where we inspire the next generation by teaching students about ocean conservation, sustainable fishing, and maritime careers. Your participation helps us bring vital education and awareness to classrooms and communities! |

SeaFeast Sparks Ocean Curiosity with Community Events Supporting Blue Schools Program Bellingham SeaFeast has been making waves in support of its Blue Schools program, hosting a series of fun and impactful events across Whatcom and Skagit Counties. From four lively Ocean Trivia Nights to two creative Paint & Sip evenings, to hands-on beach cleanups in Blaine and Ferndale, and the deliciously educational Beautiful Bivalve event, each gathering has raised funds and awareness for this vital initiative. Blue Schools empowers young minds to protect and celebrate our marine heritage by bringing maritime education and ocean stewardship directly into local classrooms. Through engaging, hands-on lessons, students learn about marine trades, careers in commercial fishing, and ways to care for our oceans and reduce plastic pollution. We were thrilled to launch our first classroom event this spring—a STEAM Night at Cascadia Elementary in Ferndale—and we look forward to many more. Together, we’re building a stronger connection between our youth and the Salish Sea, ensuring a thriving maritime future. |
