Pleased to see you First name / friend,

And even more pleased that you have once again joined me on this journey to gratitude.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve covered:
  • What gratitude is and where to find it,
  • Keeping it simple by recognising the small moments,
  • Why we’re wired to see life’s difficulties, and how to rewire that.

Which brings us to this week’s culmination – bringing it all together with a lasting gratitude ritual.

I’m a big believer in keeping things as simple as possible. This will be no different. We only need a few things to weave this joy-evoking ritual into your routine:

  1. Intention – Set a clear intention to participate in the ritual.
  2. Trigger – Choose when you’ll incorporate it into your daily schedule.
  3. Practice – With enough repetition, it becomes a go-to behaviour.

For context, I’ll share mine.

This might come across as a little cringe, but hey – I’m among friends, and it might just help, so here goes.

Every time I get in the car to go to the gym, I start my gratitude ritual:

“Hey Universe, I just want to start by saying I’m so grateful I missed the movies the other night and got to talk to Libby instead.

And who knew that by running out of butter, I’d try something different and cook a tasty new recipe the kids and I loved?

I’m so grateful that my daughter and I had a really good chat after the argument last night and worked our differences out.”

I’m also known to incorporate a little gratitude practice into my journal entries, especially after a big event or challenge.

When speaking to a client about this the other day, they told me how they keep a specific gratitude journal that really helps them open up to the process. Maybe that's something that appeals to you?

I’ve even played gratitude ping pong with a friend, where we take turns batting little (and big) gratitudes to each other. If one of us “drops the ball,” the other helps find the silver lining—or we simply acknowledge the cloud and move on to the next round.

There are so many ways to invite a little gratitude into your life. And the more you do it, the more you see it. The bias of negativity begins to shift, and you may just find the scales tip toward a more balanced, joyful outlook.

However you choose to practice, may your gratitude ritual become a source of daily grounding and joy.

See you next week,
