Sapphire comes in an inclusive size range, with fourteen sizes designed to fit chest measurements up to 66" [168 cm] and hip measurements of up to 70" [178], and two front bodice pattern pieces are provided in all sizes to provide fit flexibility for larger or smaller busts.

Sapphire is designed for woven fabrics featuring a button-front with gathered puff sleeves and skirt. I've designated the skill level as “advanced” because of the button placket, but if you're a confident beginner or intermediate sewist and you're not up for sewing buttonholes yet, I've included instructions for a buttonhole-free Sapphire (a “faux” button placket) to make it easier. The facings can optionally be attached on the outside of the garment for a fun pop of contrast.

 

Sapphire comes with two length options: The dress view has a maxi-length skirt with inseam pockets, side vents at the hem, and a dramatic

longer sleeve with elastic cuffs. The top view features a breezy shorter sleeve.

 

Digital/PDF (available now!) - the instant-download PDF pattern includes pattern pieces in print-at-home, A0 copyshop, and projector file formats (LAYERS included in all 3!), and a full-color 21-page booklet of instructions with an appendix of my favorite seam finishes.

 

PRINT (pre-order now!) - this printed pattern will be mailed to you and includes an instruction booklet with diagrams for each step and three full-sized high quality pattern sheets, printed with vegetable based inks on paper made from 100% renewable eucalyptus pulp. The full-color cover features sizing, yardage and elastic charts and is packaged in a clear resealable bag for easy storage. The print pattern is expected to ship at the end of next week (4/16/25).
