In late spring at Buffalo Spirit Ranch, the gardens erupt with life. Dormant bulbs spring forth with colorful tulips and irises. The lilacs blossom with purple perfume that saturates the still evening air. The aspens return even more robust than last year, their delicate leaves shimmer in the breeze. Or a new seedling volunteers itself in just the perfect place. I am delighted by the return of a thousand small investments I made last spring and summer—the daily watering, the planting of a seed, the pruning of a twig. It reminds me that every effort, no matter how small, counts. Love, |

Red Shoes, Blue Screens: A Modern Cautionary Tale—Why We’re Walking Away from Social Media—for Good Recently I stumbled upon an Instagram post that read: "I have decided to delete all social media for my business. As a business owner, I realized that every time I post, I am calling people into a toxic place." The truth of this hit me hard. I was forced to confront a profound incongruence in my life—and in my business. A few years ago, after watching the documentaries, The Social Dilemma and Do You Trust This Computer?, I became acutely aware of the perilous impacts of social media on both mental health and personal sovereignty. I deleted my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts to reclaim my mind and my soul. There was a cost—albeit a small one: I lost touch with some friends, missed a few family updates. But in return, I clawed back my privacy and my time. |

Do you want to create conditions that support your clientele to learn and grow? Buffalo Spirit Ranch - the EQUUS Discovery and Learning Campus is available to a handful of values-aligned professionals who wish to host a retreat or workshop. You’ll have access to the 11 acre campus, it’s learning spaces (indoors and outdoors), and optional engagement with EQUUS Faculty to provide supplemental nature-based experiences, if desired. Buffalo Spirit Ranch is adjacent National Forest and Four Seasons Rancho Encantado, plus several beautiful vacation rentals. |
