Who's the most important being in your life?
You, of course.
Sound egotistical? Self-centered?
Nope.
Centered through yourself? Absolutely.

Would you even know love if you didn't exist—body, soul, or somewhere in between? Could you run yourself ragged, trying to please everyone else? Would you be able to obsess over what others think you're thinking about them?

Didn't think so.

So yes, you matter—to you most of all. If that thought makes you squirm, if putting yourself first feels uncomfortable, then sweet soul, there's some inner garden work to do. Get the gloves.

Love: The Most Beautiful Mystery

Love is the most beautifully unexplainable thing we'll ever know. There's no formula, yet we all know when it's there. We feel it when it's real—for ourselves, others, for this glorious, ridiculous dance called life.
We also know when it's missing.

And here's the truth:

Love doesn't flow freely when forced—it has to grow from within like everything real does.

That kind of love—not built on fear of abandonment or the ache of loneliness—begins at home with you.

Looking at Your Shadow Without Running for the Hills

We all have a dark side. You know it. I know it. The mail carrier probably knows it.

Facing it doesn't mean we're broken—we're brave.

Those self-discovery students learn to laugh, wince, and then get to work when they realize we're not just kind, generous, angelic beams of light. We have the complete package: flaws, fears, old hurts, and the occasional foot-in-mouth moment.

Now imagine trusting a friend, only to find they pretend their shadow doesn't exist. That somehow, miraculously, they were born with only the "nice parts.

The Mirror Is a Risky Tool... but Necessary

If you've ever held up a mirror to someone who wasn't ready, you know what I'm talking about. Maybe you said:
"Hey… you're not actually seeing me. You're projecting your own reflection."

That's a tricky truth—one that risks rejection—but sometimes it's necessary—for love, truth, and healing.
As for me?
My world is armor-free.

Enter: The Boomerang Effect

Here's the deal: I don't get in the middle of someone else's emotional hurricane. I hand it right back and let the storm return to sender.
This is the "boomerang effect" I coined years ago. Just like the martial arts masters teach: don't meet force with force—step aside. Let the energy circle back to its origin.

Silence can speak louder than any argument.
And often, it says just what needs to be said.

Final Reflection:

If you're going to live from your spirit—fully, wildly, lovingly—you have to stand by it.

Armor off. Shadow in view. Love on.

So let me leave you with this:

Where have you dimmed your light to keep someone else comfortable?
What part of yourself is asking to be entirely accepted—without apology?

Are you ready to stand by your spirit, even if no one else does?
With love for every piece of me, and therefore… every piece of you.

Always, Nancy
