May 2025

Hi First name / there,

Matt recently presented on the topic “Culturally Queer: Create an Inclusive Culture of Philanthropy for LGBTQIA+ Donors” at his hometown Association of Fundraising Professional's hometown Chapter (Greater Lehigh Valley).

The key takeaway? You don't have to be a Queer organization to be serving and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. AND, being inclusive isn't about DEI – it's about rising the tide that lifts all boats (mo' money, mo' mission!).

Queer For Hire provides a variety of services and resources that you can access today to start boosting your revenue. Peruse the list below or read the rest of this month's newsletter to dive deeper…

1. Trainings & Presentations

2. Free Video Classes

3. Documents Library

4. Fundraising Services for Nonprofits

"Sincerely, Queers" Blog Feature
Queerness, Neurodivergence, and the Workplace:
Moving Beyond Performative Inclusion
Image item
Dear employers and professionals,

Workplaces love to say they’re inclusive—slapping rainbow flags on their logos, adding pronouns to email signatures, and hosting the occasional DEI training. But for Queer, neurodivergent employees, true inclusion requires much more than surface-level gestures. It’s about rethinking communication, challenging misconceptions, and embracing the full spectrum of identity beyond corporate-friendly checkboxes.

If you're a Queer professional, we'd love to have you contribute to the blog! “Sincerely, Queers” uplifts the voices of LGBTQIA+ professionals to improve employee culture and engagement.

The extended version is here!

Queer For Hire's article in Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP Global)’s “Advancing Philanthropy” magazine (April 2025 edition) has been expanded to fit more, say more, and help you get more done.

From 1,113 words in “Advancing Philanthropy” to a whopping 2,611 words, this expanded edition goes deeper and gives more (1,500 words more!) into the topic of how nonprofits can grow by engaging the LGBTQIA+ community through hiring employees, recruiting board members, engaging volunteers, cultivating donors, and partnering with Queer organizations.

Building a Culture of Philanthropy at Professional Development Week

One of my clients, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, hosted a Professional Development week for their staff recently.

Queer For Hire joined the work in order to share space, provide trainings and coaching, and contribute to a budding Culture of Philanthropy – where fundraising is normalized as part of everybody's role (because it's everybody's business!).

We provided two trainings to enhance the Culture of Philanthropy:
  1. Recognize Donor & Funder Opportunities in Your Work
  2. Telling Our Story: Mission-Driven Fundraising
Our Culture of Philanthropy Services provide hands-on, customized, and scalable options for your nonprofit to start or continue your journey in becoming a sustainable and diverse funded organization.
