Hi there,
May came with its fair share of surprises: endless rain, relentless pollen, and a few big milestones, both personally and professionally.
HS baseball season officially wrapped, and just as the skies opened up, my youngest son hit a major milestone of his own, he got his driver’s license! If you heard cheering (or slightly nervous laughter), that might have been me.
This month also brought renewed community involvement. I attended a client networking event at Narragansett brewery, accepted a new committee role with the North Attleboro Scholarship Foundation (bringing me back to my old office on Chestnut St), and participated in the Hockomock Area YMCA’s Annual Meeting as a Board of Incorporators Member. Each experience was a meaningful reminder of how valuable local connections truly are.
Whether in person or by phone, this month I reconnected with a few individuals I hadn’t seen in years. It’s always a pleasant surprise when someone mentions they enjoy reading my newsletters, thank you to those of you who do.
Between rainy days, design deadlines, and a calendar full of meetings, May was full in all the ways.
Here’s a quick peek at what I’ve been working on this month:
✔ Social Media and Email Marketing: Weekly meetings, scheduled email campaigns, and lots of social posts for a longtime marketing client.
✔ Event Branding for Annual Expo: Printed custom retractable banners, large-scale wall graphics, and branded table covers.
✔ Library Campaign: Created new illustrated character to promote upcoming summer program.
✔ Local Sports: Printed outdoor banners for spring events and designed senior athlete recognition banners.
✔ Lawn Signs: Designed and printed many lawn signs for upcoming spring events and promotions.
✔ Website Updates: Made numerous client website updates, including an intensive redesign of a custom contact form for intake inquiries.
It’s been a rewarding month of creative problem-solving and collaborating with wonderful clients across a range of industries.
On the home front, my sunflower seedlings made it outdoors but were quickly devoured by chipmunks. I’ve started a new round of seeds. The sweet peas didn’t survive the nonstop rain, so I’ve restarted those as well. On the brighter side, the hummingbirds have returned to the feeder and loving our catmint plant.
I hosted two fun social events with my women’s club, one at a new coffee shop in Seekonk and another at my home for a book club meetup. These small gatherings continue to be a great reminder of how nourishing simple connections can be.
