I would be upset if our veterans—or for that matter, others who rely on social services for their means of survival—including Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid—were to suddenly disappear.
I also expect our elected officials to put the neediest Americans first and foremost on their priority lists.
But hey, until we insist those elected to Congress put a cap on campaign contributions—or better yet, disallow pay-to-play altogether—their votes will always be for sale. In my Housewife Assassin novels, it's satire. In real life. It's heartbreaking.
