As we reach the midpoint of the year, we want to pause and give thanks—for God’s incredible faithfulness and for you. Because of your generosity, prayers, and partnership, lives are being transformed in Malawi. Already this year, we’ve seen God at work in powerful ways through Warm Hearts Ministry.
Local Church (evangelism events, planting new churches, resources/Bibles, construction projects, Pastor’s Basket)
Prayer (praying for the lost, hurting, believers and leaders)
Included in this newsletter are some of the things that have already been accomplished this year, as well as some things we would love to accomplish in the second half of the year. As always, thank you for being part of this mission. We couldn’t do it without you—and we wouldn’t want to.
With heartfelt gratitude,
John and Gina Moore
Amazing Grace Feeding Program
Our team completed the feeding program at the Amazing Grace Baptist Church plant that was started in 2024 in response to the famine. By the end of the feeding program they were seeing 350 kids showing up to eat. Thoko taught the leaders on how to love the children, cook and manage the feeding program. They sang songs and taught Bible stories
to the children.
Christmas Goat Program
We were able to buy more goats with end-of-the-year giving to our Christmas Goat Program. We purchased 98 goats total! The goats are having babies, many of them are giving birth
to twins, and a few
have had triplets!
Maize and Bean Distribution
We made our final maize distribution to aid in the famine. The team delivered 100 bags of maize and we added bags of beans for protein. Pastor Matt preached the gospel and the Lord brought great joy to the village and some accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. Providing physical food and spiritual food is so important
to our ministry.
Improvements to the Farm
The team has made significant improvements to our farm. The concrete floor is strong enough now to store large amounts of maize in the future. We are goat farmers now! 10 goats are living on the farm in their new pen. We have hired 2 young men to feed and care for the goats. As the goats have kids we have many options for how we will use them for ministry - either by giving to widows/pastors or selling for Bibles or church plant buildings. Our second maize planting is doing well.
Easter Evangelism Program
This year’s Easter program was amazing! Pastor Matt reported, "Today is one of the blessed day. Over 1,500 people who are hungry for the Word showed up. I taught on the subject, “The power of the cross.” We first went to the village for evangelism. This village is occupied by witchcraft. Glory to God 81 came to the Lord, 56 were baptized, and 40 people made commitments to join discipleship class and start a new church in that village. We ended our Easter program with the Lord’s supper.” We are going to plant a church in that area and have permission from the village chief to buy some good land build a church! We are naming it Calvary Baptist Church.
Children in Crisis
We have made a commitment to keep funds on hand for Matt and Thoko to give to families who have children in crisis like this family of three. Their mother died of cancer and this lady from their village has agreed to take care of them. The Children in Crisis fund is supplying formula powder for the baby. This is an ongoing need you can
Already this year we were able to purchase land for church plants at Amazing Grace Baptist Church and Pheza Baptist Church through the generosity of our incredible donors. We are so grateful and these communities will be impacted for decades to come!
Teacher Training
Part of our core mission at Warm Hearts Ministry is equipping leaders. Our children’s leaders taught teachers in using flannel graph. Oden, a young man trained through Operation Christmas Child and Child Evangelism, shared insights he learned from a recent conference. Thoko and her volunteer team served tea and a meal. We are very proud of the ways we have been able to supply, support and train children’s leaders. There is still a
lot of opportunities in this area.
The Pastor's Basket
Part of our core mission is to support the local pastors in the churches we support. We want to supply a salary of $40 a month for 16 pastors. Pastors need to be able to feed their family, pay their children's school fees and have transportation to care for people and attend meetings in town. Please consider giving on a regular basis. If you are interested in supporting a pastor for a year, we will give you information on that pastor so you can also pray for him and his congregation.
As we look ahead to the second half of 2025, we’re excited about the opportunities God has placed before us. With your continued support, we believe these goals are not only possible—they’re within reach. Here’s what we’re trusting God
to help us accomplish by year’s end:
1. Land purchase and survey costs for Calvary Baptist Church ($2,000)
2. Building project at Mbemba Baptist ($485)
3. Bibles for new church plants ($15 each)
4. Hymnals for new church plants ($5 each)
5. Cement for walls and bricks at Ntcheu for children’s area/baptistry ($885)
If you feel led to give you any of these things, the donation link is below! As always, we would love prayer for the team in Malawi who do the daily work of organizing, managing, farming, distributing, preaching, serving, and loving the people in the villages surrounding Ntcheu. Thank you for your partnership!
