Issue #41 | June 2, 2025

Welcome back to Beyond the Tour where twice a month you'll receive practical tips and resources to help you get better at what you do. No fluff. All business.

Let's do this.
Miriam
If You Do One Thing This Week:
1. ♻️ Move to continuous enrollment.
Let's make your life easier and your families' lives easier. Move to continuous (somtimes called “evergreen”) enrollment.

What this means:
When families sign their contract to enroll their first year at the school, they agree to be enrolled through the school's final year, unless they tell you otherwise.

Come February or March or whenever re-enrollment time is, the new enrollment contract automatically rolls over for the next school year.

Why this is a good thing:
✔️ You do not have to chase after families to sign their contracts for next year.
✔️ Families do not have to sign a zillion forms for the next year.

Are you sneakily signing them up for the school year that costs a boatload of money?  NO. Of course not.

You send an email that tells them:
We love your family!  We assume you will stay with us next year. If that's the case, do nothing!
If you're not sure, you can either:
A) Reply to this email to let us know you need more time for the decision,
B) Click [here] to unenroll.

That's it. Keep it simple. I bet your school has more than 80% of families returning. Why not make it easy for them to re-enroll and easy for yourself to not run after them.

Be in touch with me if you need help on this. I love moving schools to continuous enrollment.

2 Tips to DO MORE:

2. 📋 Create program plans.
It's June, the sunset of events season.

Schedule time with your team - or with yourself if you're a team of 1 - and map out your To Do list for each program you have coming up next year.

This is a template that I created for myself. Enjoy.

Put those tasks on your calendar NOW. When next year hits you like a freight train, you'll be happy those tasks are on your calendar and you'll be ready to execute your programs, with ease and class.

3. ↗️ Get teacher input.
Talk with teachers about your admission application.
  • Does the applications ask what they wish it asked?
  • Is there anything they would expect to be included that isnt?
  • Are the students in their classes reflecting what we ask on the application?
You can do this in round table conversations, invite them to your office, walking meeting, or whatever works for them. Try to snag them before they leave campus. They'll be grateful for the opportunity to offer their insight, and you'll refine your application.

I like a good win-win.
