Hey.
So, um...
Can people *actually* read your emails?
...
…Are you sure?
Or are you hitting people with that dreaded ‘wall of text’?
Something I see ALL THE TIME with new email newsletters are these HUGE blocks of text that are really hard to read.
And the whole newsletter is just blocks - no bullets, no breaks, nothing.
So - today’s email (combined with today's Email Tip:) is about:
✨ Sentence formatting ✨
If you want to make your emails easy to read - break up your sentences.
Break up your sentence length.
Try having some really long sentences that run on and give a lot of detail where you get highly specific about exactly what you’re trying to say and really paint a picture for them on the page.
Or keep it short.
Add bullets so people can:
👉 Scan the page
👉 Understand what’s important
👉 Pick out specifics
If you look at my LAST email—the sentence lengths are all over the place.
(I also pretty much exclusively write in single-text sentences - but that is a voice/tone choice more than anything.)
And - I have headlines and bullets to break up the page.
Using a combination of these things will make it SO MUCH EASIER for people to move through your emails without getting lost in all the words.
And - (because I feel like I should talk about my offers more, no?) - if you’re looking for some more specific (to you!) advice on your emails or marketing - I offer hourly strategy consultations for $250.
You can ask me anything on these about your copy or marketing - including a review & plan for your email strategy and content, or help with optimizing your list for tagging and segmentation!!! 👀
