stability and support during crisis

Image item
After losing their job during the pandemic, a Reston resident found themselves working for a delivery service to make ends meet. But when their car broke down,
their income stopped—and their housing was at risk. With nowhere else to turn,
they connected with Fairfax County Coordinated Services, who led them to Britepaths. Through the support of our staff, they received rental assistance and food support. Their story is a powerful reminder that behind every service we provide,
lives are being changed.

Celebrating the launch of
the secret garden at Britepaths

We will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate The Secret Garden at Britepaths, a new in-office book nook designed to promote literacy and encourage a love of reading among the children of our client families. Located at our Fairfax office, The Secret Garden will offer a wide selection of new and like-new books for children and teens to browse and take home. This welcoming space is intended to support academic development and nurture imagination by making books more accessible to families who visit us for services. Once open, the space will be a permanent feature of our office and an ongoing resource for the families we serve.
Donations of new and like-new books for children ages 0-18 in varied languages are always welcome. To learn how to contribute, contact info@britepaths.org.

welcoming our first case manager

Teagan McCullough
Britepaths is excited to pilot a new
Case Manager role as part of our ongoing effort to provide more personalized, wrap-around support
for the individuals and families we serve. We are pleased to welcome Teagan, who will serve in this role before beginning her Master's program in Social Work at Case Western Reserve University this fall. Teagan will work closely with clients to assess needs, coordinate resources, and support clients to long-term stability.

SUPPORTING DANIELS RUN ELEMENTARY WITH OUR Food4thought program

Led by Cora Lundgren, Food Security and Youth Programs Manager,
Britepaths volunteers recently completed our quarterly pantry inventory
and assembled weekend meal packs as part of our Food4Thought program.
The meal packs were delivered to our partner school Daniels Run Elementary
to help ensure students and families facing food insecurity have access to
nutritious food during non-school hours. Thank you to our volunteers and
Fairfax County Public Schools for helping us to nourish our neighbors.
