There's a lot of “the algorithm is broken” energy floating around lately.

👎 “Google’s not showing my stuff.”
👎 “My site’s just not getting picked up anymore.”
👎 “AI is ruining everything.”

And sure, search IS evolving. But what if…. you're not working for the algorithm?

Because Google's 2025 updates are actually pretty darn clear. They want real expertise. Original thoughts. Websites that are genuinely helpful and not just optimized to trick a robot.

So if your site isn't getting found, here's where to start (yes, today) and the 3 things Google wants you to do in 2025:

Say something new.
You want YOUR experience, YOUR twist on the content. If Google can't separate your content from someone else? It's not going in the snippet.

Structure It Like You Care
Use headers, bullets, summaries. Help scanners and search engines follow the flow. No more walls of text or lazy “About” pages. Make sure your H2 & H3 are working for you in your favor! Break it down, break it out.

Add Schema; even the basic kind.
Tools like Yoast add structured data behind the scenes, but it's worth checking. It tells Google what your page is, not just what's on it.

Want the full breakdown (plus how this ties into AI search and digital legacy)?

No shame if your site's been running on autopilot, but this is your sign it's time to recalibrate before Q3. If you need help, you know where to find me!

See you next week,
CJ

A few things on my mind:

Podcast: This One Strategy Helps You Sell Without Feeling Salesy With Colin Boyd …don't leave me when I admit this, but I am a super secret fan of Amy Porterfield, especially in her new era of admitting her insecurities and realigning herself with her audience. Her interview with Colin Boyd and how to use story effectively in your marketing is a good one to listen to!

Family Update: Last week, we said goodbye to my husband's grandmother–the matriarch, the keeper of family stories. It's one of those quiet milestones that makes you pause and notice how time is shifting.

And just as we've been honoring that chapter, I can feel the next one pulling: summer. I can feel everything shifting sideways… You know the vibe: less structure, more snack requests.

But I'm here for the change in the rhythm. Even if it means I have to relearn what “focus” looks like when this house is a little louder over the next few months.

What kind of season are you stepping into right now? I'd really love to know. Just hit reply!
