There's a lot of “the algorithm is broken” energy floating around lately.
👎 “Google’s not showing my stuff.”
👎 “My site’s just not getting picked up anymore.”
👎 “AI is ruining everything.”
And sure, search IS evolving. But what if…. you're not working for the algorithm?
Because Google's 2025 updates are actually pretty darn clear. They want real expertise. Original thoughts. Websites that are genuinely helpful and not just optimized to trick a robot.
So if your site isn't getting found, here's where to start (yes, today) and the 3 things Google wants you to do in 2025:
Say something new.
You want YOUR experience, YOUR twist on the content. If Google can't separate your content from someone else? It's not going in the snippet.
Structure It Like You Care
Use headers, bullets, summaries. Help scanners and search engines follow the flow. No more walls of text or lazy “About” pages. Make sure your H2 & H3 are working for you in your favor! Break it down, break it out.
Add Schema; even the basic kind.
Tools like Yoast add structured data behind the scenes, but it's worth checking. It tells Google what your page is, not just what's on it.
Want the full breakdown (plus how this ties into AI search and digital legacy)?
No shame if your site's been running on autopilot, but this is your sign it's time to recalibrate before Q3. If you need help, you know where to find me!
See you next week,
