June: Long-range forecast
Rainy days are here again! Lawns are going green and dams are filling up, but while you may be able to smell petrichor and give your new gumboots a whirl, the forecast is for below average rainfall this June. Temperatures are also likely to remain warmer than usual, but that doesn't mean Jack Frost will be skipping over your garden this winter season.
What we mean to say is: the weather is likely to be quintessentially Tasmanian. Prepare to wear a t-shirt in the garden on warm days and place old sheets over new plantings on cold nights to protect them from the morning chill. Remember, if the nights are still and clear, it's a good recipe for aurora sightings and morning frost.
