The Creative Spark Challenge is a free monthly challenge to help you get inspired, excited, and motivated to create! The goal is to make 1 piece of artwork a month this year. At the beginning of each month, I'll randomly draw a prompt card from the Creative Spark Deck to inspire our artwork and I'll share different ideas to help you interpret the prompts we get. You can learn more about the challenge here and find all the prompts here. |
|
Whether you consider yourself artistic or not, we are ALL creative in many different ways. I hope the prompts for this month get you thinking and brainstorming and that it helps you take action (even if it's a small one) to express yourself and your imagination! |

FROM OUR CREATIVE SPARK COMMUNITY |

I’m excited to share with you some work from our community! Annie used 2 prompts and photos to create her piece: |

I thought this interpretation was so clever and a reminder to look all around you and notice what can be found in nature. Thank you Annie for sharing! You can find her over on Instagram @anniejbrown. If you’d ever like to share what you created for the Creative Spark Challenge, feel free to send me a photo with some details or tag me in your post on Instagram. My favorite part is seeing what everyone is making so don’t be shy :) I also chose “nature” to use as inspiration for my sketchbook page this month! One of my favorite things to do is to print out photos I’ve taken and use them to make a collage. I have been lucky to be able to explore the outdoors lately and there have been so many scenes and moments that I have loved. It was fun to get to play around with some of the different elements and combine them together. Here is a photo and you can watch a short process here. I had several photos and printed them quite large so I added an extra flap so there was more room for this collage. The second photo shows the front of the flap and another photo from Beaver Lake at Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC. |

The quote I included in my collage is one of my favorites about nature: “Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” – Rachel Carson I hope you find curiosity and wonder within the prompts and in the upcoming days of summer. Happy creating! Take good care, |
