Hello First name / Beautiful Reader
This week feels like the calm before the (fun) storm—we’re getting ready for a trip to Puerto Vallarta next week, and between packing, tying up loose ends, and trying to remember where on earth I put my sunhat, things are feeling busy in the best possible way.
Before we head out, I wanted to share a few quick life updates:
✨ Baby update:
We had our 20-week scan this week and everything looks good so far, which is always such a relief to hear. The only hiccup? The baby was feeling a little camera shy (or just stubborn—foreshadowing?), so I have to go back for a second scan tomorrow so they can finish getting all the pictures of the heart. Fingers crossed the baby decides to cooperate this time.
Also: we still don’t have a name. At all. None. Zero agreement. We’ve floated a dozen ideas, but nothing has stuck yet. I feel like we’ll be those people naming the baby in the hospital parking lot. (Tell me I’m not alone in this?)
✍️ Writing update:
I’ve been working on a new project—something very different, something I’m incredibly excited about—and while I’m not ready to share the details just yet, I can tell you this: it’s twisty, layered, and probably the most ambitious story I’ve worked on in a long time.
More soon. I promise.
For now, I’m soaking in this in-between time—between writing sprints, doctor appointments, beach packing chaos, and the quiet, happy hum of something new taking shape.
